Early bird bike ride: H. Neuendorf → Spandau along the Wall Trail (~40 km)

From Berlin bike adventures

Early bird ride: Hohen Neuendorf → Spandau along the Berlin Wall Trail. Start your Sunday with a morning ride along the historic Mauerweg. We'll cycle from Hohen Neuendorf heading west to Spandau, following the path where the Berlin Wall once stood. The route is flat, mostly paved, and takes us through forests, along the former border strip, and past memorials and remnants of that era. This is Part 2 of our Berlin Wall Trail series — continuing from where Part 1 ended! (But you'll have fun even if you missed Part 1.) Any bike type works. No special experience needed - you just should be comfortable riding 40 km at your own pace. From Spandau, you can easily take the S-Bahn or U-Bahn back to the city center. • Start: S-Bahn Hohen Neuendorf • End: S-Bahn Spandau • Distance: \~40 km • Terrain: Flat, mostly paved bike paths • Pace: The one you're comfortable with — we're here to enjoy a beautiful start to the day. We keep moving but it's not a race • Recommended to bring: water, a snack, and sunscreen • Equipment: Up to you but you're responsible for your own safety. We'll stop for coffee/breakfast along the way (pay your own). See you bright and early! 🚲

Cylce & swim - Grimnitz- and Parsteiner See

Cylce & swim - Grimnitz- and Parsteiner See

========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Althenhof > Grimnitzsee > Wolletz > Angermünde > Parsteiner See > Chorin LEVEL: Intermediate to Experienced DISTANCE: 50ish kms MEETING POINT: 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** This is the start of the swimming season (at least for me). Once we arrived in Altenhof we head downhill to the Lake Grimnitzsee for a first swim. After the refreshment we head further up nprth on mixed grou before we reach Glambeck, a very scenic little village. From there it is solig ground only to Wolletz where we stop at the Kaffee Konsum for a delicious Wildboar Burger, or more. From there we have the chance to either head on solid ground alongside more boring nature of straight through the forrest on such ground. Passing through Angermünde we head further down south via Herzsprung before we reach the Parsteiner See. One of the clearest lakes I know (and my personal favourite, but psst…). After the second swim we then head around the lake and stop for a last sip of coffee (and hopefully cake) at the Hofladen Brodowin, where even Kind Charles has been. From there its just \~7km to the train station Chorin where we hop into the train which brings us back to Berlin. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 50ish km ride, with mainly mixed and soft but also some solid ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 08:20 - Berlin Ostkreuz, in the train RB24 on platform 14. I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 23,60 both ways / person, so this time it does make much sense to organise a BBT. I will get one if at least one other person wants to join me! And don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 08:41 - dep. Berlin Ostkreuz, platform 14, taking RB24 to Eberswalde 09:27 - arr. Eberswalde, platform 2, switching trains 09:37 - dep. Eberswalde, RB63, platform 4, 09:55 - arr. Altenhof **WAY BACK:** 18:43 - dep. Chorin, RE3 19:07 - arr. Bernau, switching trains to S2 19:23 - dep. Bernau, S2 20:06 - arr. Yorckstraße (S2) **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary. ========= DETAILS =========

Ultimate Frisbee in the Park - sunset sparkle

Ultimate Frisbee in the Park - sunset sparkle

Wed, Jun 3, 4:30 PM
From Ultimate Frisbee in Wedding
4.9

Hi everyone. We'll meet and play a relaxed game of ultimate in Volkspark Rehberge if the weather cooperates. Our games focus on having great team play, where the teams work together to advance the disk down the field. It's more important to work well together as a team than have a few star players get a point with lucky shots. For this reason, players of all skill levels (especially those who have never played) are welcome to join Bring plenty of water, shoes you can run in and comfortable clothing that can get a bit dirty. Although we're an established group, newcomers are always welcome. After the game we try to spend some time together and have fun. Finding us: We meet in this big grassy area, it's a short bike ride from the subway stop Rehberge on the U6 or Amrumer Strasse on the U9. It can be a bit tricky to find the first time, so we've got a few methods to help out (don't trust the meetup map pin, it often shows some point in the park, not the exact spot where we are) 1. GPS: 52°32'54.9"N 13°19'51.0"E ; 52.548581, 13.330842 2. Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/xbZgaXzMSMt 3. the helpful picture here https://secure.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/2/8/8/f/highres_451930383.jpeg *This event may also be photographed and/or video-recorded, and published on social media channels such as meetup and eventbrite.* *By participating, you acknowledge and accept the risk of injury while playing Ultimate. Although adherence to the rules, proper equipment, and common sense reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and, you willingly and freely assume all such risks.*
