Join us for a relaxed but rewarding **17 km Sunday hike through Richmond Park** at one of the most spectacular times of year. 🍁 **THE AUTUMN COLOUR EXPERIENCE** Autumn transforms the park with rich reds, oranges, golds and browns, while **Isabella Plantation** becomes one of the highlights of the season. The Royal Parks specifically describes October as a peak period for autumn colour at Isabella, with the **Acer Glade** particularly spectacular as the Japanese maples turn scarlet, orange and gold. 🦅 **LOCAL KNOWLEDGE MATTERS** I've lived in Richmond for most of my life and know Richmond Park intimately. Rather than simply following the obvious route, we’ll explore a mixture of **well-known viewpoints, beautiful woodland, open parkland and quieter corners** that are easy to miss if you don’t know the park well. This is an English-speaking social hike for people who enjoy walking, nature, good conversation and discovering interesting places. 🌳 **WHAT WE'LL SEE** 🍁 **Isabella Plantation** spectacular autumn colours 🌳 **Thomson’s Lawn** & woodland garden 🍂 **The Acer Glade** in brilliant autumn colours 💧 **Brownie’s Stream** & Main Stream 🦌 **Richmond Park’s free-roaming deer** 🏞️ **Pen Ponds** & surrounding parkland 🌿 **Tamsin Trail** & quieter sections of park ✨ **King Henry’s Mound** & St Paul’s Cathedral view 🍰 **Pembroke Lodge** & Thames Valley views 🌅 **Richmond Hill** & famous view over Thames Valley 📍 **QUICK INFO** 📅 **Date:** Sunday 25 October 2026 📍 **Start:** **[Richmond Station](https://maps.app.goo.gl/5Uw1bmQ2Kwp7Yv6y5)** \- main entrance ⏰ **Meet:** 9:45 am \| **Start:** 10:00 am sharp 🥾 **Distance:** Approximately **17 km circular route** ⏱️ **Duration:** Around 4½ – 5 hours ⚖️ **Difficulty:** **Moderate** 🚶 **Pace:** Steady 🚾 Various toilets available on the route 💷 **Price:** **FREE — [Registration Required](https://avalanx.es/experiencias/richmond-park)** *The route includes a number of gentle inclines and declines and is suitable for people who are comfortable walking 17 km over several hours.* 🚨 **REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED** Although this is a **FREE hike**, you must register through our platform to secure your place. An RSVP on Meetup alone **does not secure your spot**. 👉 **Register here:** https://avalanx.es/experiencias/richmond-park This allows us to keep the group organised and provide the relevant meeting and preparation information. After registration, you’ll receive your unique **Booking Reference** and the logistics for the day. 📱 **ON THE DAY** If you are running late or have difficulty finding the group on Sunday, you can call or text the organiser on: **07447 162 666** (Please use this number for **on-the-day logistics only**). 🍻 **OPTIONAL SOCIAL FINISH** 🌄 We´ll aim for the sunset over Richmond view 🍻 We'll finish back in Richmond. If you'd like to stay afterwards, you're very welcome to join us for an **optional drink, coffee or bite to eat** at a local pub. No pressure — the official hike finishes when we return to Richmond Station. 🎒 **WHAT TO BRING** 🥾 Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots 💧 **1.5–2 litres of water** 🥪 Packed lunch and snacks 🧥 **Waterproof jacket** and warm layers 📱 Fully charged phone 🦌 **DEER & PARK SAFETY** Richmond Park is home to wild deer and **October is part of the annual deer rut**.
