We will meet at Caulfield Railway Station , outside Platform 4 Then ride to Moon Palace Preston, considered the one of the best homemade Dim Sims in Melbourne. After lunch it's a short ride to Regent Railway Station. There is another traditional Chinese Restaurant that we will try on another ride to compare, how exciting ! Any type of bicycle will do as it is on roads and cycle paths. Bring water . Your bike needs to be in good order and wet weather gear if the forecast is for rain. A social ride mostly on paths for a brunch/coffee stop at iconic Fairfield Boathouse. Showers might appear later in the day so a morning ride is called for. We'll ride via the Main Yarra Trail to Dights Falls for the view and stop at Fairfield Park Boathouse for brunch/coffee. We then head north a short way to Fairfield Station to see a very large wooden dog object and west on quiet backstreets to Northcote (Ruckers Hill) for a good view of the city skyline before returning via Park St (Capital City Trail) and Canning St to town. An easy ride for any type of bike but it will be best if you leave large pannier bags at home, please. **Distance**: approximately 30 Km. **Speed**: about 22 km/h tops **Forecast** : Cloudy. 15°. SUBJECT TO MELBOURNE'S CAPRICIOUS WINTER WEATHER \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- Loop from East Malvern Station to Jells Park and Blackburn via Scotchman Creek, Dandenong Creek and Gardiners Creek Trails. In this direction, we avoid the massive climb from Jells Park and not having lunch at T-House. Meet at East Malvern Station Car Park at 10am. Coffee stop at T-House in Jells Park, late lunch stop at Gourmet Girl or Joy Parade at Laburnum. BYO lunch is an option, there is seating within view of the venues. There is the option for a bit of single track at Shepherd's Bush but requires descending a short set of stairs. For those not wishing to do single track, use the main trail and we will meet at High Street Road. **Hare:** Portuguese Man O Whore and Back Wash **Date and Time:** Sunday 16/18/2026 - 10:30 for 11am wheel off **Start:** Broadmeadows Sporting Club, 111 Sunset Blvd, Jacana VIC 3047 Closest station is Jacana on the Craigieburn line **Note the earlier than usual start time** This follow me ride goes to the end of the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail into a national park with a section on dirt track similar to that on the Bendigo ride - please bring your spare tyres! Please bring a can of your favourite beverage for a drink with a spectacular view. I will provide a drink as well and small snack. I will need to confirm numbers for the restaurant - there is only one place in the area to eat, Broadmeadows Sporting club does not serve food on Sundays. This ride can only be done on a fair day. As such we have a plan B ride at Coburg. Portuguese and Back Wash
