Tempe to Como spin

Leichhardt to Manly

30km [+300M] (-> GCP 1.0) scenic ride, mainly on backroads and paths. Traffic passing close at times. The ride will finish at Manly Wharf, where we'll optionally enjoy refreshments together and (probably!) catch a ferry to Circular Quay in our own time, linking to trains or riding home. Ferries every 20 minutes. Scenery includes Rozelle Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney Harbour from Bridge, Middle Harbour, Manly Creek, Pacific Ocean. Three significant climbs to challenge the unfit/unelectrified: Barangaroo to Harbour Bridge, North Sydney, and after Spit Bridge. Four Bridges On the Parramatta River

We will ride over 4 major bridges on a trip along Parramatta River's north shore, crossing the Silverwater Bridge to return to Blackmore Oval via the southern shore The bridges are the Iron Cove Bridge, Gladesville Bridge, Silverwater Bridge and Bennelong Bridge. We will pause to reflect on the history of each bridge and at other points of interest along the way. The distance is approximately 40 km and with stops including a café, should take around 3½ hours. The route is undulating in places with some moderately steep but short grades. We will be mostly on off-road paths but some street riding is necessary where paths are not linked yet. Riders should have a bike in good mechanical order, carrying water and a spare tyre tube. Bike helmet essential.

Ride Leaders' meeting

For Bike Leichhardt RIDE LEADERS ONLY Meeting starts at 6.30pm in the EXECUTIVE MEETING ROOM at Wests Ashfield Liverpool Rd (aka Hume Hwy). This meeting will include the usual scheduling of Sunday rides for the next 3 months PLUS a brief summary of the recent Ride Leaders' and Participants' surveys. FYI. - Free undercover parking for cars and bikes. Walking distance to Ashfield station, also buses from city. 2 restaurants - order meals and you can have them in the EXECUTIVE MEETING ROOM upstairs on the floor above the restaurants while the meeting is in progress if you wish.

Moore Park to Ramsgate RTN - 36k

An easy and relatively flat morning ride south through Waterloo, Alexandria, Mascot, around Sydney Airport and along the new cycle path through the Barton and Scarborough Park wetlands to Ramsgate where we stop for coffee/pastries. Much of the ride is on cycleways, otherwise along back streets, except for the first short stretch along Dacey Ave and South Dowling St. We meet at the Dacey Avenue Bus Shelter, Kensington (in front of the E S Marks Athletic Field) and leave from there promptly at 7:30 am. Alternatively - meet us at 7:45 am in front of The Grounds on the corner of Bourke Rd and Huntley St Alexandria. Medium pace (20kph av.) ETA return 10:30 am

*✅ Free to attend - ⚔️ Jugger Equipment is supplied Jugger is an exciting, mixed-gender soft combat sport. Two teams use a selection of padded foam spars to tag opponents as they aim to put the jugg (the game ball) into their opponent's goal. **Watch Jugger being played in [this excellent short demo video](https://vimeo.com/28592980).** Jugger Melbourne training sessions include both full games of jugger, as well as a variety of training drills designed to promote **teamwork, communication, exercise, health and fitness, and teach core game skills.** **‍🏃‍♀️‍➡️ New Player Info / Who Can Join** New players are always welcome! Our experienced coaches will teach you basics to get you and and swinging in no time Jugger is easy to pickup the basics while deep to master. We have a minimum age policy of 16 years (please note, anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian), but other than that we welcome anyone of all fitness levels. Jugger is a great way to keep active, and a fun way to meet new people in a friendly and inclusive community! **👟 How to Join a Session and What to Bring** Joining is simple - just show up! RSVPing on Meetup or Discord is a big help as it helps us plan around expected numbers. You are also welcome to bring along any interested friends and family. **⚔️ Jugger equipment is supplied.** We have a collection of gear to loan out to new players. Bring a water bottle (there is a tap nearby), sunscreen, and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for running around in - and that you don't mind getting a bit dirty! Recommend but not required items include: sunglasses, football boots, kneepads, and gloves if you have them. You don't need any of these to get started, but you may find you want them if you become a regular. **✅ Are there any costs are involved?** Our training sessions are **free to attend** as often as you like, we are essentially just a group of friends that meet for training and socializing on the weekend. The Australian Jugger League has a voluntary annual membership that helps to support the sport (including maintaining equipment and paying for Meetup), and we encourage people to join once they become a regular attendee or begin attending tournaments.
