Who Lives in the Woods? Watercolour Workshop

Over four Tuesday evenings, we’ll meet four different woodland animals and explore a new way of painting each one with watercolour. Every week, we’ll look closely at one animal and use it as an opportunity to learn and practise different watercolour techniques. Some paintings will be more realistic, others more loose or abstract — the idea is to discover how many different ways watercolour can describe an animal. We’ll also look at a selection of picture books and discover how different artists have interpreted and painted animals in their own unique ways. We always work **step by step**, starting with the basics: observing how water and colour interact, experimenting with colour effects, and learning how to control — and sometimes let go of — the water. Then we’ll build our animals from simple shapes, exploring different effects and practising textures such as fur, feathers, and other details that make each animal unique. Ditch the old book club, where everyone has to read the same book...this is better! It works like this: Bring your own book. Come chat, have some tea or coffee, get to know your neighbors. Then we quietly read together, side by side, for about one hour, each one reading their own book, and afterwards we talk with each other about what we are reading. In the evening, we attend a flamenco performance at Zoraya Flamenco in the Albaicín, one of Granada's best-known venues, for a traditional Andalusian night of live music, singing and dance. **Day 4 - Nerja, Sea Kayak & Trip to Seville** Three hours on the Mediterranean sea, paddling into sea caves and along the Maro cliffs to a breathtaking waterfall. Lunch in Nerja, then a short walk on the clifftop coastal path before the drive west to Seville. **Day 5 - Seville, the Alcázar & the Cathedral** We visit the Real Alcázar, then the cathedral and the Giralda tower.
