From Playful Berlin: Hikes & Activities for Human Connection
4.9

We will meet at Friedrichshagen S-Bahn station (on the platform, east exit) and follow this trail: https://www.komoot.com/de-de/tour/3242541424. If you need to contact other participants during the hike (for example, to find out where to meet us if you are running late), please install Signal now and use the Signal group link that I will send to all participants via private message three hours before the hike. This timing is intended to prevent non-participants from misusing the link for unwanted advertising, which has happened in the past. Signal allows us to share our locations during the hike without involuntarily forwarding this information to the intelligence services of authoritarian or non-authoritarian states, but unfortunately the location sharing function does not include tracking, i.e. no continuous updates. For all other purposes, especially socialising and posting photos, please use the Telegram subgroup 'Event Chat & Photos': https://t.me/addlist/KAOk2PA4BDE0ZTY8 . The hike will take place if at least 6 people sign up. As long as there are more than 6 people, you can sign up and cancel as many times as you like. If there are 6 or less people, please avoid cancelling, as this might make the other participants feel insecure about whether the hike will take place (or whether there is something wrong with the hike and they should cancel as well --> Matthew effect - Wikipedia). If there are less than 6 participants, the hike will also take place unless the majority of the participants are in favor of canceling the hike.

We are going to meet inside "urban apes Basement Boulderstudio", close to S Anhalter Bahnhof, also not far from Potsdamer Platz. If you have never been there, you will need to sign up with them, which will take a bit of time. After that, **you can find us on the couches near the lockers (not in front of the reception), next to a red smiley**. When you enter the actual gym, enter the hall by turning left immediately - you are walking towards them. We will start warming up around 11:10, so everyone has enough time to arrive and get changed before that. ***\*\*\**** *Spots are limited, so please update your RSVP at least 24 hours in advance if you won't be joining. **NO-SHOWs ARE NOT COOL \*\*\**** We enter the gym at 11:00, if you are late, you will need to look for us inside. IMPORTANT: they only accept cards as a payment method. No cash. One day ticket will cost you 13,90 EUR (10,90 EUR if you are a student, free if Urban Sports Club). **What to bring: well, first of all, a good mood.** But you could also bring * climbing shoes if you have any. If not, you can rent them there, no worries. They cost 3,50 EUR. * a lock (for the locker). * chalk. You won't need that if you are a beginner. Renting is possible. * water. * extra clothes. It's quite chalky there and humans sweat, not the best mix, don't you think? :D Please, note: the organizer is not responsible for anything, including injuries. # Inside Venture Capital: How VC Funds Work and Decide Who Gets Funded Two investors. Two sides of venture capital. One evening to understand how the money actually moves. No fluff. ## Datum i lokacija * **Sreda, 23. septembar 2026** * **[LVL World of Gaming](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=c828aacda31190d4&sxsrf=APpeQnvx9kITsqeqOxSES2WM6qd2xuUuuA:1788428569971&q=LVL+World+of+Gaming+-+Berlin&si=APenkKmVGdgpMPDQZoEWS8RIAhsqXAKlNLP0B8DNkkiU9KPI0X--3c4dLBaZW5axno4ufRA0h3UUgCguVhaEOLKDzfTPAWK7CsWzqwiJ3dUxtk2o3WWwFmdrbiNgNrPJ8FRiQaq98DEL&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjJ1_nMj9KWAxXdQvEDHXIHGCQQ_coHegQINBAB)** \- Schützenstraße 73\, 10117 Berlin * Lokacija se nalazi odmah kod **Checkpoint Charlie-a** * **Početak: 18:00** ## Predavači i teme Dva predavanja. Dve perspektive. * **Tema: Kako fondovi rizičnog kapitala odlučuju u koga investiraju** Drugim rečima: **Kako VC fond zapravo funkcioniše?** A kada to razumemo: **Kako VC odlučuje u koji startup će investirati?** ## Program događaja * **18:00 - 18:30** Ulaz i upoznavanje * **18:30 - 18:40** Uvodna reč * **18:40 - 19:00** **Dr. Luka Nićin: Iza kulisa: Kako fondovi rizičnog kapitala zaista funkcionišu** * **19:00 - 19:15** Pitanja i odgovori * **19:15 - 20:00** Umrežavanje uz hranu i piće * **20:00 - 20:20** **Miloš Matić: Kako fondovi rizičnog kapitala odlučuju u koga investiraju** * **20:20 - 20:35** Pitanja i odgovori * **20:35 - 20:45** Završna reč * **20:45 - 21:30** Druženje i umrežavanje * **Od 21:30 Nastavljamo druženje u baru i restoranu LVL World of Gaming** Na prethodnim okupljanjima smo se oko 21:30 selili u neki od okolnih kafića kako bismo nastavili druženje. Gradimo, delimo i podržavamo jedni druge. **Vidimo se u LVL World of Gaming!** *** # ENGLISH VERSION We’re back with the **9th gathering of builders, founders, investors, and tech professionals from the former Yugoslavia (ex-YU)**, organized by [Nemački kutak](https://nemackikutak.com/) and [Serbian Entrepreneurs](https://www.serbianentrepreneurs.com/). The event will be held in **English** and is open to everyone - whether you’re from the region or simply part of the broader startup and tech community. ## Date and Location * **Wednesday, September 23, 2026** * **LVL World of Gaming** \- Schützenstraße 73\, 10117 Berlin * Right next to **Checkpoint Charlie** * **Start: 18:00** ## Speakers and topics Two talks. Two perspectives. From understanding how a venture capital fund actually works behind the scenes to the question probably on every founder’s mind when talking to investors: **how does a VC actually decide who gets funded?** ### Dr. Luka Nićin Dr. Luka Nićin is an investor and Head of Bio & Health Technologies at **Pace Ventures**, focused on companies at the intersection of science, healthcare, and technology. In his talk, Luka will open up the black box of a venture capital fund: where the money comes from, how funds are structured, how investors think about risk and returns, and what actually happens behind the scenes before a fund can even invest in a startup. * **Talk: Inside Venture Capital: How VC Funds Really Work** ### Miloš Matić Miloš Matić is the founding partner of **Omorika Ventures**, a VC fund investing in pre-seed and seed startups from Serbia and the wider region. Building on Luka’s talk, Miloš will take us to the next step: what happens when an actual startup lands in front of an investor. How do VCs evaluate an opportunity? What really matters when making an investment decision? How does the internal decision-making process work? And ultimately, what separates a "no" from a decision to invest? * **Talk: How VCs Decie To Write a Term Sheet** In other words: **How does a VC fund actually work?** And once you understand that: **How does a VC decide which startup to invest in?** ## Timetable * **18:00 - 18:30** Entry & networking * **18:30 - 18:40** Opening note * **18:40 - 19:00** **Dr. Luka Nićin: Inside Venture Capital: How VC Funds Really Work** * **19:00 - 19:15 Q&A** * **19:15 - 20:00** Networking with food and drinks * **20:00 - 20:20** **Miloš Matić: How Venture Capital Funds Decide Who to Invest In** * **20:20 - 20:35** Q&A * **20:35 - 20:45** Closing note * **20:45 - 21:30** Networking * **From 21:30 onwards** We’ll continue at the LVL World of Gaming bar and restaurant At our previous events, we usually wrapped up around 21:30 and moved to a nearby bar to continue the evening. This time, there’s no need to go anywhere - **LVL World of Gaming has its own bar and restaurant**, so after the official part of the event we can simply stay at the venue and keep the conversations going. ### Event Support This event is supported by [LVL World of Gaming](https://lvl.global/), a Berlin venue for arcade games, PC gaming, esports, and various types of events, and [Rubik's Code](https://rubikscode.net/), a learning platform for software development, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. ## Registration Admission is **free**, but spots are limited. Please confirm your attendance so we can plan the space, food, and drinks accordingly. Let’s keep building, sharing, and supporting each other. **See you at LVL World of Gaming!**
