**Join us for a Sunday Crafternoon Maker Meetup!** Whether you are looking to carve out dedicated creative time, wanting to get a lingering project across the finish line, or just looking to chat with fellow local makers—this is the space for you. 🧵 **What to Bring** Bring any art or craft project you are currently working on, as long as it is portable and quiet. Think: * **Yarn & Thread:** Knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch, hand-sewing, mending. * **Paper & Sketching:** Sketchbooks, adult coloring books, watercolors, bullet journaling. * **Digital:** Tablets, iPad drawing, laptop writing/design. * *Please note: Because we are meeting in a shared public space, no power tools, sewing machines, or high-odor materials (like strong solvents or spray glues), please!* **📍 Where to Find Us** * We will be meeting at **Columbus Metropolitan Library - Gahanna Branch** in **Meeting Room 3.** Room is reserved under **CBUS Maker Meetup.** **⏱️ Timeline** * **2:00 PM:** Arrive, grab a seat, get settled, and do a quick round of introductions so we can see what everyone is working on. * **2:15 PM - 4:00 PM:** Open maker time! Fundamentals: by do Jung Ishu/ the art of fighting

We are a real world Martial arts group. \ Called DO JUNG ISHU (the art of fighting) \ Based off of Jeet kune do we just continued where Bruce Lee left off. \ We have been around a while. \ Every week we get together and work technical skills and full contact spar. \ Almost all of the instructors have been in everything from street fights to the ring and some still compete in cage fighting. \ If you want to take your skills up, improve your confidence, gain self defense skills, get in better shape, test yourself or just want to kill some time and possibly get hit a bit come on down. \ We will be located at 3923 N High St, Columbus, OH 43214 Outside in the grass between the playground and horseshoe area. our instructors are normally in a black and red art of fighting shirt \ if you can not find us call or text me at 6143570295 Saturday 1:30pm Wednesday 5:45pm From Age 16 and up. attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian with them. \ Wear workout clothes. \ Bring a MOUTHPIECE! \ WE HAVE GLOVES. \ $10 per class $5 per class if you are wearing a club shirt Club shirts are $25 Hope to see you soon. \ let me know if you have any questions :)

Trans Figure Drawing

Join us for Trans Figure Drawing, a live figure-drawing session featuring trans models provided by the Westerville Queer Collective (WQC) and the Ohio Feminist Art Museum (OFAM). We will begin with short, gestural poses and gradually move onto longer ones. Beginner level instruction will be provided by a local queer artist for those who would like it. This event is 18+, and all skill levels welcome. Figure drawing isn’t just a tradition for classical artists - it’s a rewarding way to connect with the human body. When going to a live figure drawing session, it’s not always disclosed what kind of model the artists will be working with. Given today’s political landscape, OFAM and WQC are creating space for artists to work with the trans body. This event is good for anyone who wishes to hone their skills, diversify their subject matter, or simply enjoy introspective, meditative sketching. Bring your own materials: easel and drawing pad, sketchbook and color pencils, watercolor set up, anything that doesn’t require excessive ventilation or other special accommodations. BYOB if you’re 21+ as well! We will cover model etiquette and there will be scheduled breaks throughout. Seating/tables and tabletop easels will also be provided. OFAM is wheelchair accessible. Bad Girls Book Club August 2026

**Our August novel is: *The Swallows* by Lisa Lutz** **This month’s novel combines mystery and thriller elements with dark humor. Neurodivergent Women Rediscovering Joy: Reconnecting with Our Special Interests

Join us for our August gathering of The Pause Collective as we explore what happens when burnout, life's responsibilities, and the changes of perimenopause or menopause leave us feeling disconnected from the things that once brought us joy. For many neurodivergent women, special interests are more than hobbies—they're a source of creativity, comfort, curiosity, and self-expression. Yet during seasons of stress, caregiving, work, or burnout, they can quietly fade into the background. This month, we'll gently explore what has lit us up in the past, what we're curious about now, and how we might reconnect with the parts of ourselves that have been waiting patiently for our attention. This will be a relaxed, low-pressure meetup focused on connection and conversation. No need to prepare anything. No pressure to share. Come as you are. **Together we'll:** • Introduce ourselves and welcome new members. • Reflect on the interests and activities that once brought us joy. • Talk about how burnout, neurodivergence, and midlife have affected our energy and creativity. • Share ideas for rediscovering old passions or exploring new ones. • Encourage one another to take one small step toward something that sparks curiosity. • Continue building meaningful friendships and a supportive community. This space is neurodivergent-affirming, self-diagnosis-friendly, and supportive of different communication styles and energy levels. Quiet participation is welcome. Listening is participating.
