Shell Sea Paintings!

Tonight we're going to be doing a little Shell Painting! You'll be able to choose from a few pre-drawn ideas, or make your own creation from scratch! Everyone will have a choice of color paints, and of various sea shells, and you will be designing a beautiful summer ocean scene on canvas! All supplies will be provided for you. This class will be held at Marmalade Cafe in El Segundo. We'll be arriving before the end of happy hour, so everyone should be able to find something off the menu. They do expect that everyone will order "something" since they're letting us meet on their property:) COST for this class: $30, to be paid in advance so I have the right amount of supplies ready:). This class will develop the accuracy of drawing skills, the ability to correctly judge and paint values, and finesse transitional tones and edges to give the painting the illusion of three-dimensions. The three main objectives of this class: 1\. Drawing \- draw the shapes of the cast in correct proportion\, beginning with the big shapes then the smaller shapes\. 2\. Values\- Learn to correctly judge values by using 5\-7 tone scale which we will mix on the palette\. Filipino Martial Arts is a weapon based martial art. Start off on your first day wielding two weapons. We will be located at the pin on the map in this event page. This class is open to all skill levels. A great way to meet other people interested in Martial arts, as well as getting some exercise and learning an excellent weapon based martial art. We start you with weapons (sticks) to use in class the first day. Eskrima is a Filipino Martial Art and a very effective self-defense art. If you've trained before, come out, if you've never trained in Filipino martial arts (Serrada Eskrima), it's a great new art that could be a stand alone art, or could compliment any other martial arts out there. We teach techniques that range from sticks to knife, to empty hand, improvised weapons and well as many other techniques. Once the student has the basics down he or she can easily transition to improvised weapons. If you have sticks bring them. If not, we have plenty to lend out. Wear loose workout clothes and bring some water to stay hydrated.
