Art Exhibition + Dance Performance: Ode to the Moon

Art Exhibition + Dance Performance: Ode to the Moon

Sat, Jul 18, 10:00 PM
From Culver City Art Oasis

**Reception** 🗓 Saturday, July 18 🕒 3–6 PM 💫 Movement Intervention by Catherine Cruise at 4 PM 📍a poco art, 4505 S Slauson Ave, Unit 317, Culver City, CA 90230 We invite you to join us for gathering in conjunction with exhibition: Ode to the Moon — If the Body is a Tide and Art is Emergence. Carl Sagan wrote, *"We are made of star-stuff."* Every atom in our bodies has journeyed across the universe for billions of years before becoming us. Through the Daoist idea of *ziran* (自然)—that which becomes of itself—the exhibition has asked a simple question: **What if we are not separate from nature, but one of its countless ways of becoming?** Perhaps we are landscapes before we are individuals, tides before identities, minerals before memory. ✨ At **4 PM**, dancer **Catherine Cruise** will present an improvised movement intervention, activating the exhibition through the living body. Moving in dialogue with the artworks, architecture, light, and those gathered, the performance invites us to rediscover the landscapes, dust, waters, and minerals that quietly reside within us all. Join us for one last afternoon of art, movement, conversation, and reflection beneath the moon. *"We are a way for ziran to know itself."*
