**Come learn to dance at NYC's most beautiful ballroom studio!** We teach lead and follow, not a list of moves — so you can dance with anyone, not just the person who learned the same pattern... Saturday afternoons, an hour of bachata, whether you've never tried it or you've been faking your way through it at parties. It's the most forgiving of the Latin dances to start with — the footwork is simple enough to pick up in one class, and everything after that is feel. Come with a partner or come on your own; we rotate, and nobody sits out. Salsa follows at 2:15, and taking both is $10 off. Details — Saturdays, 1:00–2:00. $30 per class, or $50 for both Saturday classes. No partner needed. Come in something you can move in and shoes that slide easily on a wood floor — leather or suede soles are ideal, but not required. Each class stands on its own and the material changes week to week, so there's no catching up to do and no wrong week to start.

**Class Dates:** October 31, November 7, 14 & 21 In this practical course, you’ll learn the concepts, skills, and principles of an atelier approach to drawing. This will give you the foundation to make realistic drawings from life with rounded, 3D shading. Our instructor, Tim Dosé, will guide you through the steps to make a beautiful, finished drawing of a simple still life from life. Each class will include a brief lecture, demo, and critique. **Week 1 - Thumbnail & Block-In** **Week 2 - Value Study** **Week 3 - Modeling the Light** **Week 4 - Modeling the Shadows** **Materials:** * Strathmore 400 drawing paper pad, medium surface - 9x12” or 11x14” * Range of artist’s drawing pencils - at least 2B, HB, H, 2H, 4H. Visit a zoo in the winter? Absolutely! The Bronx zoo is open year-round, which is fortunate for us as animals love the snow, and nothing makes a more impressive photograph than a fierce tiger surrounding by a wintery backdrop. The winter also means less crowds, less heat and humidity and more active animals. The zoo also boasts some impressive indoor exhibits as well, giving us a chance to stay warm and toasty while photographing exotic species. Exhibit highlights include Jungle World, the Bronx Zoo's indoor rain forest featuring nearly 800 species, Madagascar, showcasing a variety of wildlife and plants from the island, Himalayan Highlands (weather permitting), Highland Himalayas (weather permitting), home to the striking snow leopards and red panda, Sea Lion Pool (weather permitting), watch them frolic, play and get fed, creating the perfect opportunity for capturing images, and Astor Court, home to the zoo's original landmark Beaux-Arts buildings. We'll cover such topics as camera settings for wildlife photography, focusing on fast moving birds and animals, handling tricky lighting situations, composing great wildlife images, storytelling, and framing. All levels are welcome. In this class, we will focus on figure drawing and various drawing techniques. We begin with a short discussion/demo of different approaches to drawing.
