Lets sketch around the leak street arches! This cool art tunnel near Waterloo is brimming with tonnes of amazing and inspiring graffiti to get sketchin’ Let's meet outside the entrance to Leake Street on Lower Marsh, this is just a short walk from Waterloo station. There’s some nice coffee shops on Lower Marsh so we can go sit somewhere there. Nearest Tube Stop: Waterloo Completely free of charge, no need to sign up, bring a friend. Feel free to drop in for the whole two hours or just short while if you'd prefer. (ticket needs to be purchased via eventbrite)** This is a hands-on painting workshop where you'll learn real technique - colour theory, how to mix and blend acrylics, brush handling, and how to build a finished painting on canvas from scratch. All guided by professional fine artist and art educator Dhanishtha Patel. Throughout the session, Dhanishtha moves around every participant offering personal, 1-to-1 guidance, so whether you've never picked up a brush before or you're looking to build on some experience, you'll be supported every step of the way. The contemporary meaning of Shibari describes an ancient Japanese artistic form of rope tying. Shibari style rigging creates geometric patterns and shapes with rope that contrast beautifully with the body’s flesh. This is a very intimate and completely immersive drawing experience and a chance to observe the incredibly close relationship between model and rigger, the physcial and emotional experience of the model, the sensuality, vulnerability and strength of the manipulated body and the sheer physicality of the body suspended. Join us for a day trip to ramble, sketch and paint along the stunning Kent coastline ✏️🎨🌊 ✨✍️ Welcome 🥾✨ This event is suitable for all, from total beginners to experienced artists. It is a welcoming space to ask others with help on composition, perspective and shading. Please bring your own sketchbook, canvas, and materials of your choice - from pencils, biros and markers to charcoal, pastels and paints. I’m happy to provide small canvases for this event so we can all paint by the sea, just message me in advance. If we all bring a small something to eat and drink we could have a picnic on the beach 🏖️ ⛵️ About Whitstable ⛵️ Whitstable is known for inspiring J.M.W Turner. His most famous artwork which depicts the area is ‘Oyster Beds at Whitstable, Kent’, a celebrated watercolour commissioned for the book Picturesque Views on the Southern Coast of England. He also completed several pencil sketches and drawings of the coastline, including ‘Views of the Coast of the Thames Estuary, with Whitstable in the Distance’ (1825). 🚂 Getting here 🚌 Let’s meet at either St Pancras Train Station for the 10.20am direct train to Whitstable, scheduled to arrive at 11.36am, or if you prefer, we can meet at Whitstable Train Station itself. We’ll start our ramble from 12pm and head towards the coast. 🏖️Exploring the area and lunch break (12pm-2pm) ✏️Sketching and painting (2pm-4pm) ✨Share art, chat and postcard sketch (4pm-5pm) 🚂Head back to the train station for the direct 5.50pm train to St Pancras. On the return journey, direct trains to St Pancras run hourly, for example, 5.50pm and 6.50pm. We might find there’s lots to explore and we want to stay longer!

**Three great days of life drawing and painting in our Liverpool Street Studio with London Drawing founder Anne Noble-Partridge** Now in its 18th year – our Life Drawing and Painting summer schools are a brilliant chance to really immerse yourself in working from the model. Starting with drawing, we work through exercises and processes which hone your observational skills to build your confidence in a range of mediums- approaching mark making and gesture as well as the more technical side of drawing, moving into tone and colour using pastels. We will build a painting using acrylics to plan out your composition, then move into painting in oils. Each section of the process will feature in depth demonstrations – backed up with lots of one to one tuition.
