Join us for a mythical creatures and narratives sketching workshop with London Drawing tutor and artist – the brilliant Sisetta Zappone.** Sisetta is a mine of information on mythology and ancient historical narratives and we will be searching out these characters and stories in the fabulous imagery, sculpture and ancient architecture from across the globe in the fabulous Cast Courts Sisetta is a professional printmaker artist based in London and has created art travelling across the globe, as well as the UK. Her expansive work is massively expressive, drawing from ancient imagery, capturing the mystical and the magical in her subjects . Sisetta is a a really inspiring and engaging tutor- with so much to offer with regard to technique and approach so you can build foundations of your own style. – so prepare for a fascinating afternoon of creativity and cosmic exploration! FREE THE FIRST TIME YOU ATTEND. Meet at the Crown pub and draw or paint landscapes in Victoria Park or along the Regent’s Canal. This is a very a friendly and well-established group. You can draw or paint in your own way or the tutor can provide a plan for the session for you to follow. This will help you to understand techniques, motivations, colour and composition. Creating with Andrea really is like stepping back into Renaissance Italy!** We will be taking a deep dive into life drawing and anatomy – working through structure and muscularity, learning to recognise and visualise the physicality of the body to build real depth into your drawing. Understanding of the anatomy of the body is the key to creating convincing and confident life drawing- and is invaluable regardless of your style. Depth of physical understanding will inject a 3D-ness to your drawing which will inform tone, volume and foreshortening. We will use directional lighting to create high contrast chiaroscuro to define the physicality of the body, highlighting bone and muscle. Using charcoal amd graphite to build layers of tone and learn how to render a variety of shadow qualities to create volume and realism through glowing light and shade. This workshop guarantees improvement in your drawing and confidence – with in depth demonstrations and plenty of one to one tuition – you can really take it to your own level.
