D&D is a Structured Game Night, half boardgame, half improv, all guides by a storyteller host who can teach and run the play session. Expect it to go for about 2.5-3 hours, with time for chats and photos and food :) This is a sister event to the Ludos Melbourne Games' Guided Game Nights for Beginners, which means there is another event on meet up with people attending this game. To do that, here is the event: - Free Beginner Event (beginners only) - If you want, you can buy 1 or 2 more sessions at 80% the regular price, exclusive to attendees. - everything prepared for you, and optimised for a beginner night. **FAQ** **What should I expect?** An exciting night you'll tell your colleagues, roommates and friends back home about. Seriously, this will probably be the highlight of your week. **What should I bring?** Nothing but yourself. **What will happen when I get there?** you'll be greeted at the door by the host game master (story teller person) you'll be able to chat to them one-on-one, ask questions and receive a name tag sticker. then you'll be placed in a small team and be introduced to the storyteller who will lead your night. **Will I be the only girl?** Usually not. I normally see a ratio of 2 girls for every 3-4 guys, occasionally more girls. I can't guarantee on any given night what the numbers will be. but I can promise you that our game night is very inclusive and the gender ratio won't sour your night 😊 (if it does, let the host organiser (usually Jope) know during or after the event so he can quitely handle it) **Will I be the only old person/ young person?** We normally see anyone from ages 23 to about late '40s. but just like above, no guarantees on any given night, but don't expect that to sour the night. The Ludos Guild Beyond these Meetup events has all sorts of people, 80% of them young-mature professionals. **Will I slow people down if I don't get the game?** Totally not. We've been running this night for over 2 years and have gotten really good at teaching hundreds of people this game. Everyone is also super friendly and the game's cooperative. (people who arent, won't be invited back) **I'm worried I might show late?** yep, just message the organiser about what time you think you'll be there, and we'll see what we can do. **Do you have any other times? I'm busy on a Saturday...** We occasionally run on a Friday, message the organiser **What's a Ludos Guild?** Ludos meaning games, it's a private group of people who enjoy table top role playing games. This is not the Ludos Guild, this is our front door. A host may invite you to the guild, but only after you have joined two sessions with us. This requirement ensures you feel like you understand the gist of the game, and think you'll enjoy playing it for years to come. Filmonik Melbourne is an open filmmaking group with monthly open-screen screenings like an open-mic for films. Meet at Eclipse on Tuesday July 28th for our 130th screening and it's our proven mix of immediate, spontaneous, crafty, fun, inventive and weird short films. You should expect comedies, a bit of drama, animation maybe, there's generally one suspense/thriller, one music video, some fun trash, horror or documentary but sometimes we don't even know what will be playing. Films are generally under 8 minutes to keep things fresh and fun, followed by a quick QA with the director to hear about the process. Nirvanna the Band, the Show, the Movie Screening

Join us for a members-only screening of Nirvanna the Band, the Show, the Movie at the intimate Champagne Video Cinema and Bar. We’ll meet for drinks and conversation from **7:30pm**, with the film starting at **8:30pm** on **Friday 14 August**. **Location:** Champagne Video Cinema and Bar, 318 St. Georges Road, Fitzroy North. This is a non-theatrical members-only screening. New members are very welcome — you can join the film club with a **3-month minimum commitment for $45** (just **$15 per film**). Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker, a casual cinephile, or you simply want somewhere fun to be on a Friday night, **you are absolutely welcome here**. Come say hi, grab a drink, and soak up the vibe. **Note: These screenings are a new initiative for us and we're experimenting with the format. We're looking to have a short film showcase + conversation in place of a feature probably in October** (if you are all ready a film club member there is no need to RSVP at this point).

We typically choose a film that starts between 6:30pm and 7:30pm so that we're not all yawning in the bar afterwards. Please read on if you have any questions about tickets, where to sit and where to meet before and after the film. Stay tuned! **--=>+ Meeting Spot +<=--** Outside the clothing store Black Orange. It is inside Lygon Court next to Brunettis. Join the group at the meeting spot 10 minutes before the start time or see us in the cinema, or the bar afterwards. **--=>+ The Film +<=--** TBC on the prior Tuesday or Wednesday after Cinema Nova have published their movie schedule. **--=>+ Tickets +<=--** Everyone will need to buy their own ticket online and in advance. If you want to sit with other group members, there's a tendency for us to pick seats in the back two rows. Those who feel comfortable can catch up in Nova's bar afterward. **--=>+ Afterwards+<=--** We meet in Nova's bar after the movie. Look for us in the area to the left as you go down the steps. Share your thoughts about the film with the group over a drink of your choice. If the bar is closed we typically head across the road to the Wolf's Lair which is out the back of Jimmy Watson's.
