🔥Toronto Founder Walk | Marketers, Entrepreneurs & Business Owners
Sun, Sep 13, 8:59 PMA lot of people in this group work with entrepreneurs every day — or are entrepreneurs themselves. Agency owners, marketers, consultants, freelancers, creators, startup founders and business owners often end up at the same conferences and seminars... …but don't necessarily get much time to actually know one another. So instead of another marketing presentation, we're trying something simpler: # 🚶 Toronto Founder Walk A casual Sunday walk along Toronto's Harbourfront where entrepreneurs, marketers and business owners can meet through natural conversation. No slides. No speakers. No sales presentation. No forced networking exercises. Just: **Walk. Talk. Meet someone interesting.** ### The idea I've been involved with entrepreneur and community events in Toronto since 2016, and this new series grew out of the **18,000-member Toronto Entrepreneurs & Start-ups Facebook community**. One thing I've noticed over the years is that the best connections rarely come from exchanging as many business cards as possible. They usually happen when you spend enough time talking to someone to discover: > “Oh, this person actually thinks about things in an interesting way.” That's what we're trying to create. ### 📍 Location **Toronto Harbourfront** We'll meet around **Simcoe WaveDeck / Harbourfront Centre**, near The Power Plant. Exact meeting instructions will be provided through Luma. ### 🕔 Time **Sunday · 5:00 PM – approximately 6:15 PM** Please arrive a few minutes early. ### 🚶 Format About **75 minutes walking along the waterfront**. We'll help make introductions at the start, but this is intentionally informal. Possible conversations might include: * What's actually working in marketing right now? * Growing an agency or service business * AI and automation * Customer acquisition * Entrepreneurship * Building a personal brand * Sales * Hiring * What you're currently working on * Or something completely unrelated to work You don't have to talk marketing for 75 minutes. The activity is simply there to make meeting people easier. ### Who this is for Especially relevant for: * Entrepreneurs * Agency owners * Digital marketers * Consultants * Freelancers * Creators * Startup founders * Business owners * Growth and marketing professionals You don't need to sell marketing services. You just need to be genuinely interested in meeting other people who build, market or operate businesses. ### What this is NOT This is not: * A lead-generation mixer * A seminar * A pitching session * A place to aggressively collect prospects If your main objective is to distribute business cards to everyone, this probably isn't the right event. If you'd enjoy meeting a few thoughtful people and seeing where the conversation goes, it probably is. ### ☕ Optional afterward We'll finish the formal walk around 6:15 PM. Anyone who wants can continue for coffee, food or a drink nearby. ### 🎟 How to reserve your spot **Meetup RSVP does not confirm attendance.** Please register through Luma: 👉 **[https://biz1.ca/walk-mkt](https://biz1.ca/walk-mkt)** We keep the walks relatively small, so please release your spot if your plans change. ### 📱 Future events For first notice of upcoming casual entrepreneur events, join **TES Social on WhatsApp**: 👉 **[https://biz1.ca/wa](https://biz1.ca/wa)** Upcoming formats may include: * Founder walks * Small dinners * Breakfasts * Marketing/AI discussions * Sports * Wellness * Social activities ### 🙌 Want to host or contribute? We're looking for people interested in: * Hosting * Co-hosting * Photography * Video * Reels * Venue partnerships * Activities * Event support 👉 **[https://biz1.ca/host](https://biz1.ca/host)** Come curious. Leave the pitch at home. Hopefully meet someone worth seeing again. #DigitalMarketingToronto #TorontoEntrepreneurs #FounderWalk #MarketingCommunity #TESSocial

Thursday Discussion Group (formerly Mystic Christianity)
Fri, Sep 18, 12:00 AM### Thursday Evening Discussion Group **In\-Person \| Starts at 8:00 PM \(Doors open at 7:30 PM\) \| Drop\-In** **Current material:** [The Yoga of the Christ](https://www.drmac.co.za/PDF/TheYogaOfTheChrist.pdf) by Murdo MacDonald-Bayne M.C., Ph.D., D.D. (sequel to Beyond the Himalayas) This weekly discussion group offers a reflective and open space to explore themes of **mysticism, spirituality, and inner transformation** through selected writings and talks by Jiddu Krishnamurti, Annie Besant, Alice Bailey, and other thinkers whose work invites deep **inquiry into consciousness, freedom, truth,** and **the nature of self-understanding**. Rather than promoting a particular belief system, the group emphasizes **shared reading, thoughtful reflection, and respectful dialogue**. Participants are welcome to engage at their own pace—whether through listening, contemplation, or open discussion. ### About the Current Material *The Yoga of the Christ* by Murdo MacDonald-Bayne (Military Cross, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Divinity) is the sequel to *Beyond the Himalayas*, in which MacDonald-Bayne recounts his encounters with spiritual Masters during his travels to Tibet. In this sequel, he brings those teachings to bear on the life and message of Christ — presenting Christ's teachings not as doctrine or theology, but as a living yoga: a path of inner union, direct experience, and conscious alignment with the Divine. Non-sectarian in spirit, the work treats Christ's wisdom as universally accessible to anyone sincerely seeking truth, regardless of background or tradition. A free PDF is available at: [https://www.drmac.co.za/PDF/TheYogaOfTheChrist.pdf](https://www.drmac.co.za/PDF/TheYogaOfTheChrist.pdf) While there is **no requirement to commit before attending**, *the intention is to gradually build a group of participants who are interested in returning regularly and engaging sincerely with the material* and the group process. Newcomers are very welcome, and those who feel drawn to ongoing study are warmly encouraged to continue attending. This is a **drop-in group**, and no prior background or preparation is required. **All are welcome.** Come as you are, reflect together, and take part in a spirit of openness and mutual respect. (Please note there is no WhatsApp communication system for this group, and no online or hybrid option at this time — this is an in-person group only.)
