Founders & Builders - Co-Working Session (Deep Work + Social)

Tue, Aug 25, 12:00 PM
From Where Stuff Gets Stuff Done Berlin
4.8

Hey everyone, I’m organising a structured co-working event for those who are tired of grinding at home alone. To ensure that we have both working + socialising, we'll be using the “Pomodoro” technique: **50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break**. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks. ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **15min Intros -** arrive & settle in * **Pomodoro Session** - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...* * ...**50min** of uninterrupted “deep work” (no talking, no interruptions, no phones) * ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc. * Repeat x3 * **15min** celebrate & feedback regarding format Share your progress, socialise, meet new people, or just get some work done :) ———— The event is free, but it would be good if participants buy a drink or snack. After the structured part ends, you're welcome to stay longer. See you there 🩵 **\*\*please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***

BHNT #114 -

BHNT #114 -

Tue, Aug 25, 5:00 PM
From Berlin Hack and Tell
4.7

BHNT #114: the first BHNT after a beautiful solar eclipse visible from the location of our base. Your hacks do not have to be connected to the title (bonus points if they do though - e.g. a hack using eclipse ide would be stellar). We just use these names with relation to recent events similar to release titles of software to lighten up the bland numbers for humanoids. Please RSVP and bring your hacks! There are 8 dynamically allocated Slots that consist of 5min presentation + 5min conversation with the audience. To refresh your memories or get familiar with the concept - see some old hacks here: [https://bhnt.c-base.org](https://bhnt.c-base.org/) Hope to see you - looking forward! please [RSVP here](https://platform.openmeet.net/events/bhnt-114-eclipse-hacks-4iwaww)

Good Posture, Pain-Free Back

Good Posture, Pain-Free Back

Wed, Aug 26, 4:30 PM
From Berlin Pain-Free Back and Spirtual Awakening Group

Here is another opportunity to discover good posture and a pain-free spine through the Gokhale Method! :) **Wouldn’t it be nice to feel comfortable in your body while sitting, standing, or walking? To maintain upright posture with ease?** I’m Sabina Blumauer, a certified Gokhale® Method teacher based in Berlin, where I help people transform their posture and significantly reduce back pain using efficient, practical techniques. **What you**’**ll learn** In this free 1-hour introductory workshop, you’ll discover how to: * Reduce back, neck, and joint pain * Improve posture, flexibility, and energy * Sit, stand, and move in a way your body is designed for * Reduce strain from everyday activities like sitting, standing, and sleeping Many participants already feel noticeable relief and greater ease during or shortly after the session. **What to expect?** You’ll get a clear introduction to the principles behind the Gokhale Method and learn how small changes in alignment can significantly improve comfort and movement. **In this workshop, you will learn how to improve your walking and strengthen your glutes!** **Is this for you?** This workshop is especially helpful if you: * Struggle with back, neck, or posture-related discomfort * Have been told pain is a “normal part of aging” * Haven’t found lasting results from other treatments * Want a natural, non-invasive approach to pain relief **The core idea** Pain is often unnecessary, and is a common result of how we use our bodies in everyday life. This workshop shows you practical ways to change those habits at the source. * *“I have been dealing with severe sciatica for 2.5 years now and you are literally the first person whose information has actually helped me. After tonight’s seminar, I am hopeful and positive for the first time in a very long time!” \~ Gerri Hynes, Ontario* * *“I attended the free Gokhale workshop and after practicing the techniques, I have observed a significant reduction in back pain.”*\~ Andrew Howard, Canberra * *“I considered taking the free workshop but I kept putting it off thinking that I should wait until my back felt better. After all, how was I going to sit for an hour in a classroom when I couldn’t even sit 10 minutes in my own home due to severe sciatica pain? Imagine my amazement when I realized that I had sat pain-free for 45 minutes!”* \~ Jerri Bessat, California Please register for the event on the official webpage: [https://gokhalemethod.com/civicrm/event/info?id=14162 ](https://gokhalemethod.com/civicrm/event/info?id=14129) **See you there!**

Let’s Play Backgammon! - Play, Socialize & Have Fun

Let’s Play Backgammon! - Play, Socialize & Have Fun

Sun, Aug 23, 12:00 PM
From Backgammon Berlin
4.9

Join our Backgammon Meetup to play, socialize, and enjoy this classic game! Everyone’s welcome! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player. Expect fun, friendly games, laughter, and new friends. With the nice weather and the beautiful lakeside setting, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a few games and spend time together. Hopefully we can make the most of a sunny summer afternoon! ☀️🎲⛲️🍻🌳 👉 Please RSVP only if you plan to attend. 👉 Bring your own set if you have one. **How to Play (Quick Guide):** - Each player has 15 checkers and moves them toward their home board. - Dice rolls decide how many spaces you can move. - Land on an opponent’s single checker to send it to the bar. - Once all your checkers are home, start bearing off (removing them). - First to remove all checkers wins! **Fun Fact:** The Origin of Backgammon: Backgammon is one of the oldest known board games, with roots deeply embedded in the ancient civilisations of Mesopotamia. But it is in Persia, where the game truly flourished and evolved into what we now know as 'Takhte Nard'. Archaeological findings suggest that early forms of backgammon were played in Iran over 5,000 years ago. Artifacts such as game boards and dice have been discovered in sites like 'Shahr-e Sukhteh' (The Burnt City), indicating the game’s ancient origins.
