Hiking with the Ladies Who!

This is a weekly event, we meet every Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM for connection, fun, laughs and fun! Hikes are easy to moderate, hilly but wide, no steep cliffs. This group was created to bring together people who share a passion for cybersecurity and a curiosity about how things work. The goal is simple — to connect with other humans who enjoy meaningful, inspiring, and sometimes unexpected security conversations more than just once a year. Many of us have returned from security conferences feeling both inspired and overwhelmed — full of new ideas and projects to explore, only to have life pull us in other directions. Maybe a demanding client, a new sprint, or even a new baby shifted priorities away from that funny blinky badge project sitting on a shelf. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. This meetup offers a space for like-minded individuals to gather once a month, share what’s captured their attention, discuss recent exploits or discoveries, and showcase projects born from curiosity or necessity. Whether it’s a half-finished experiment, a new idea sparked by a problem, or something ready for collaboration, this is a place to share and grow together. Most of all, this group encourages rediscovering that spark of curiosity — dusting off those badges, boards, and brainstorms — and diving once again into the spirit of exploration that brought us all here.

Woodworking Workshop

-please read the whole updated description!- Come to work on your own projects and get some feedback from your fellow woodchucks. We have a planer, drill presses, hand tools, a table saw, and much more! ###################### **starting June 8 we will be taking a break from the intensive power tool trainings provided in previous sessions.** For the next few weeks we want to use wood night as a time for actively working on projects and designing ideas for your projects. Happy to help with some guided use of the tools, but for now no full training will be offered. If you are new to the woodshop you are still welcome to join, just know that we will not provide a full training on the tools. If you have significant experience using a Tablesaw, mitre saw, planer etc then this should not be an issue. We do have some scrap wood available, but bringing some wood for your project, especially if it is larger or more crafty, is highly encouraged. We recommend getting your wood at Lowe’s (cheaper) Discount builders supply (closer to NB) or Beronio (higher quality and carry lots of hardwoods). Please feel free to ask questions on the discord if you are unsure about what to get for your project.

Sputter night!

We're trying to bring an old Edwards sputtering machine back to life! Everyone has varying levels of experience with vacuum and deposition technologies from decades of work in industry to "I just read the wikipedia article and sputtering sounds neat" Come hang out and help us get to first plasma and then hopefully full sputtering soon after!
