Nibble Night - Bsides Soldering Meetup

Nibble Night is back again! The ScriptKitty team is building cat-shaped, flipper compatible Mesh radios for classes at BSides events this year. Come help us build Nibbles, learn surface mount soldering, and get your own Meshtastic/Meshcore radio! Come build with us, or just hang out and see how hacking tools are made. If you have experience with soldering or pick and place assembly (or want to learn), come join us for a fun night of music, pizza, and making electronics! We’ll be giving LoRa node kits to volunteers who can help us build for more than 2 hours, but anyone is welcome to hang out and see how electronics are made (and sometimes destroyed)! We’ll be building the Nibble Zero, a Flipper Zero compatible LoRa mesh radio, that also works just fine on its own! These cute Mesh nodes will be powering workshops at Bsides events, teaching beginners how to get started with Meshcore, Meshtastic, and Reticulum. We have limited table space available, but anyone is welcome to hang out at NSL!

Songwriting & Studio Sessions - Read Description!

You'll collaborate, network, and walk out of each session with a demo of your own. Here, we work on music and create meaningful connections to artists across genres and skillsets. **We cannot accept those who come unannounced without a ticket unfortunately due to the space constraints.** The cost per person for the session (8 Hours) will be $35 hosted @ Pirate Studios w/ max 3-4 per room. The actual meetup will only last from 9AM - 12PM but you are free to stay and work after the fact until the time runs out. The goal is to create a track at the end of the session! WRITING FOR PUBLICATION, Pasadena City College

FRIDAY, September 18, 7 p.m. , WRITING FOR PUBLICATION, Pasadena City College. on-campus TWO CONSECUTIVE FRIDAY EVENINGS. This is a 2-part workshop sponsored by Pasadena City College, taught by Christopher Nyerges. This is a workshop where you get assignments, or you develop your own projects, share in class, and discuss how to market your work. Learn how to develop ideas for sale into various markets. Learn how to create a “pitch” to sell your book, and how to go about selling it. Learn how to publish it yourself. Some of you might simply want to create a book about your family for your own inner circle. Whatever your interest, the instructor will work with you to develop your interests and to get on the road to being published. Oh! If you ‘re looking for a “magic formula” or some obscure “secret” to getting your work published and becoming a millionaire, you may or may not find that here. According to Nyerges, “There is no magic to getting your work published. But you do need to be a good writer with some original ideas, and you do need to do the hard work that will be required. Mid-Autumn Moon Celebration @ Huntington Library (San Marino)

Join me for a beautiful evening at **The Huntington's spectacular Chinese Garden (Liu Fang Yuan)** as we celebrate the **Mid-Autumn Moon Festival**, one of the most important traditional festivals in Chinese culture! 🌕🏮 We'll **meet at 6 PM** before heading into the special evening celebration at 6:30 PM. 🌕 What is the Mid-Autumn Festival? The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, when the moon is believed to be at its fullest and brightest. The festival has a long history dating back more than 2,000 years and is centered around themes of family reunion, togetherness, gratitude, and wishing for happiness and prosperity. One of the most beloved traditions is sharing mooncakes, a round pastry symbolizing completeness and family unity. Learn about physical security, locks, and locking mechanisms. This month's topic is WEIRD LOCK DESIGNS FROM AROUND THE WORLD! We'll look at some cool and unique lock designs from around the world which showcase interesting lock mechanisms, anti-picking features, or other interesting security and safety things! Learn the basics of how locks and keys work, and how they can be manipulated open. We will have locks and loaner picks to practice, along with experienced pickers and training aids to help beginners learn. Doors open at 7:00 PM! Talk starts at 7:30 PM.
