Sydney Forge Your Strength Iron Souls Social

We are hosting a casual get-together for the Sydney Iron Souls community to step away from the rack and spend some time getting to know each other outside of our training sessions. Whether you are a seasoned powerlifter or just starting to find your footing in the sport, this is a space to chat about lifting, share experiences, or simply connect with others who share a similar interest in strength training. We find that the best part of this community is the people, so we wanted to put together an afternoon where we can talk about more than just personal bests and training blocks. The event will be held in a relaxed environment where you can drop in for a drink, grab a bite, and meet some familiar faces or make new friends within the local lifting scene. There is no agenda and no pressure to perform, just a chance to hang out with a group of people who enjoy working hard. Sydney 2600 IRL

2600 Meetings exist as a forum for all interested in technology to meet and talk about events in technology-land, learn, and teach. Meetings are open to anyone of any age or level of expertise. The 2600 Australia chapter became prominent in 1999, bringing together people interested in computer security, electronic gadgetry, communications, privacy, and technology exploration in general. In addition to bringing these people together with meetings, mailing lists and seminars, we spoke up on issues such as Internet Censorship, Cybercrime, DVD encryption, and many other issues. Since then, many of the original members have moved on to new projects, however the 2600 Australia movement is still alive, with many new (and original) members active within the online community and monthly meetings, along with the occasional visitor from 2600's international chapters. **Sydney Money Club — FIRE, Saving, Investing & Everything Money** One of our members suggested we have a session on the FIRE movement — Financial Independence, Retire Early — so let’s give it a go. We’ll spend some time talking about FIRE: what it is, whether it’s realistic, saving rates, investing and the trade-offs involved. Then we’ll open it up into a completely free-form money discussion — what are you saving for, how are you saving, what are you investing in, what do you want to understand better? We also have a couple of stocks we are going to talk about as requested by members. After a recent trip to the Bird Hide at Homebush Bay, I thought a morning photo session may heed better results. Birds are generally more active in the early morning hours and the light at this location would be ideal for photography. I would recommend a telephoto lens of 300mm or more to achieve better results. The meetup point is the bird hide at 7.30 am and parking is available near the Archery car park. It is a short walk from there to the bird hide. Please read the parking restrictions and make your own decision regarding that. Coffee and morning tea location after the event to be decided by the participants on the day.
