Happy Ending | The Curious Readers Club #Meetup2

Happy Ending | The Curious Readers Club #Meetup2

Sat, Sep 5, 12:00 AM
From The Curious Readers Club

For this month’s gathering, we’re switching things up from our last non-fiction read and diving into something a little lighter, warm, and easygoing—perfect for a cozy, feel-good break. We’ll be reading Happy Ending by Chloe Liese, a contemporary romance that blends humour, heart, and emotionally grounded characters navigating love, connection, and personal growth. It’s a breezy read that still gently explores deeper themes around relationships, vulnerability, and what it means to choose love in today’s world—without giving away too much, of course! 📖 In our discussion, we’ll chat about: * Our favourite moments and character dynamics (no spoilers!) * Modern dating culture—what’s changed, what hasn’t * The pros and cons of single life vs committed relationships * How we define love, independence, and emotional connection today Most importantly, it’s a space to unwind, share perspectives, and enjoy thoughtful conversation in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Come along for books, honest conversations, and a bit of laughter along the way 💛

PMI Sydney Toastmasters club is one of Toastmasters International clubs. Toastmasters International (TI) is a USA headquartered educational organisation that operates clubs worldwide for the purpose of helping members improve their communication, public speaking, and leadership skills. Through its thousands of member clubs, Toastmasters International offers a program of communication and leadership projects designed to help people learn the arts of speaking, listening, and thinking. This meetup group lists club meetings and events. We are a friendly, welcoming group who are interested in improving our public speaking and leadership skills. Whether your goal is to enhance your professional presentation skills, gain confidence in addressing an audience, we find that doing it in the company of like-minded people can be a lot of fun. Meetings include both impromptu and prepared speaking practice. We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday each month, 5:45 PM for 6:00 PM start. Visiting the club for the first time is free of charge. Club officers are happy to support and provide detailed information should the visitor is interested to be the member of the club going forward. *** To better manage the attendees, all the visitors have to RSVP the event directly on Meetup before each meeting, so that we can arrange your attendance in face-to-face meetings or invite you to join the meetings via Zoom in the PMs and emails while complying with the Covid-19 related policies.

Board Games in a Bar. Someone Had To

Board Games in a Bar. Someone Had To

Thu, Aug 27, 8:00 AM
From Surry Hills Board Games Meetup Group
4.5

The Art Syndicate's weekly games night has been running for over two years. The regulars keep coming back. That's the whole story, really. Come as you are. **If you've got $10 to spend at the bar, that's what keeps the collection growing**. A wine, a beer, something non-alcoholic, and you're set for the night. **If money's tight, just show up. We'd rather have you in the room.** **External food is welcome.** For the after-work crowd, we often end up eating together anyway. Lisa and Saxon know the collection inside out. Tell them what you're after, something fast and social, a deep strategy game, or you've never touched a board game in your life, and you'll be sorted in five minutes. We've got titles that'll become new favourites and rare gems for the dedicated gamers. The room fills up with people who came once and never stopped coming back. Solo, with friends, or somewhere in between, it works either way. Come find out why. 🎲 Come find out why. **🎲 What's on the table** **Party & social** Coyote · Exploding Kittens · Ghost Court · Here to Slay · Monikers · Munchkin · No Ducks Given · Sushi Go · Telestrations · Trolley Problem · Uno: No Mercy · A Fake Artist Goes to New York **Social deduction** Blood on the Clocktower · Codenames · Coup **Strategy** Arcs · Carcassonne · Catan · Railroads · Sidereal Confluence · Ticket to Ride: Europe **Mystery & investigation** Awkward Guests · Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective · This Game is Killer: Frozen Horrors **Co-op** Magic Maze · Pandemic Legacy · Puzzle Box **Team** Captain Sonar **Classics** Cards · Chess · Scrabble *Want something specific?
