Sailing Adventure aboard the cutter Cetacea on Sunday, Sept 13!

The cutter Cetacea (Latin, marine mammal-dolphins/whales), a beautiful, strong, and well-appointed 42' blue-water sailboat with extensive operational and safety systems, invites a few crew aboard with a highly experienced skipper and platonic-only water sports enthusiast and science/technology entrepreneur. Strong preference for adventurous crew, as can be seen in the various NBS photo albums of crew on more than 150 no-cost personal sailing adventures the past 12 years on NBS. This sail is for women that prefer to sail with other women; sorry guys but there is a big demand for female-only sailing that isn't being met! Sailing experience isn't necessary, but enthusiasm for a fun, safe and exhilarating daysail, is! Weather dependent, we'll sail around the North Bay crashing Regattas and searching for whales under sail! Yes(!) we've seen whales for 2 of the past 4 sailing adventures! We may head out to the coast and sail the Golden Gate Strait, if nice weather! We'll lunch underway with a 20 minute cleanup upon return. The waitlist is open until I identify the crew by Wednesday night. Sept 9. I'll send an agenda with food, drink, clothing, meeting location, marina parking and more to the crew on Friday, Sept 11. Hello adventurers and welcome to the Meetup that is limited by only your imagination! This event is where we get together, have some drinks/snacks, and read aloud a Choose Your Own Adventure books that we vote on. We take turns reading, collectively vote on the choices we'll make, and read through the consequences. Come by and check it out! We've been to space, cured plagues, committed heinous crimes, reached enlightenment, made so many friends, and even visited *the* Forbidden Castle. Marin Headlands Hike from Tennessee Valley to Hill 88, 5.2 mi, 1200 ft.

Mammoth to Yosemite Backpack

This is a multi-day trip from Mammoth Red Cones trail to Yosemite Tuolumne Meadows. * This is a 5 days/4nights and \~42 miles, 6,500 ft vertical backpacking trip. * You must be an experienced backpacker to join. There is no minimum pace requirement but the ability to average at least 2mph is recommended. At the same time, it is not going to be a race to get from point to point, and the expectation is that we will remain together or at least within sight of each other. **Itinerary -** * Day 1 - Meet at Tuolumne Meadows and take the 1:05pm ($16) bus to Mammoth Village. From Mammoth Village take the shuttle to Horseshoe Lake where the trailhead is. From there hike about 2 miles to a suitable campsite, note there is no camping at McCloud Lake so we will need to travel past that before camping. * Day 2 - Hike to Vivian Lake, \~10.5 miles * Day 3 - Hike to Thousand Island Lake, \~9.5 miles * Day4 - Hike just past Donohue Pass, \~11 miles * Day 5 - Hike out to TM, \~9 miles * PLEASE EMAIL ME FIRST - jlmuncie@yahoo.com to coordinate and go over your backpacking experience. * This itinerary is flexible. There's lots of good camping in the area and as long as the entire group agrees I'm open to modifications. * COST: $5 for permit fees.
