Step 2: Please buy your ticket ($89 - Early Bird, $99 - Regular) via Trybooking - [https://www.trybooking.com/DOHZD](https://www.trybooking.com/DOHZD) This includes the bus ticket and the entry ticket to the farm ($18) Payments are managed through Trybooking and not Meetup. We have eight simple rules in place to protect our community and for everyone to have a positive experience. ❌ Not a dating group! – We’re here to make friends, not find soulmates. No flirty business, please! 📵 No phone numbers, please! – Feel free to swap social media if both parties are cool with it, but let’s keep our digits private. Please don’t add people to WhatsApp or other groups. 🔞 Our events are only open to people aged 18 and older. 📢 Please do not advertise other events or groups. 😅 Don’t be a social octopus! – Give people space to chat with others. Please don't be clingy. 🚗 We don't allow carpooling due to safety incidents/our public liability insurance not covering motor related accidents. 💰 No sales pitches! – No selling, no MLMs, no pyramid schemes, no “life-changing mentorship” offers—let’s keep things scam-free. 📸 Cameras welcome, but… – please refrain from taking photos of our members for privacy reasons. By joining this event, you’re giving us a virtual pinky promise 🤝 that you’ll follow the rules. Break them, and—poof!—you’re out for good. No second chances, no do-overs. Let’s keep it fun, friendly, and drama-free! **Liability Waiver:** The organizer of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury, or accident to participants or their property at this event. Art Meets Science: EMERGENCE[Y] Exhibition at Science Gallery Melbourne

Art Meets Science: EMERGENCE[Y] Exhibition at Science Gallery Melbourne

Sat, Aug 29, 1:00 AM
From Melbourne Social
4.9

Join me for a relaxed Saturday morning wander through **EMERGENCE[Y]**, Science Gallery Melbourne's latest free exhibition. It brings together artists, scientists and collaborators from around the world to explore how we adapt to a world in flux — from the regenerative promise of stem cells to the movement of Martian winds. Think regenerative coral soundscapes, fungal fashion, First Nations knowledge of the Birrarung and a vertical city farm, all under one roof. We'll meet at 11am outside the gates of Science Gallery Melbourne, say hello, then head inside together to explore at an easy pace. There's no set tour — we'll drift through the exhibits, chat about what stands out, and enjoy the space as a group. As a bonus, local artist Dylan Martorell's **Wild Circuits** installation is on that day, bringing the junkyard to life with interactive sound sculptures made from upcycled objects and robotics. Just so it's clear: this is a casual social meetup arranged so we can go along together — it isn't run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Science Gallery Melbourne. Entry is free and you don't need a ticket, but an RSVP here isn't a booking or guaranteed entry. **Who this is for** * Anyone curious about art, science, or where the two collide — no background knowledge needed. * People who enjoy a gentle indoor activity and a friendly chat. * Solo attendees are very welcome — lots of people come on their own, and it's an easy setting to meet others. **Links** * Meetup start point: https://maps.app.goo.gl/YkvyqemwWDp38GJ27 * EMERGENCE[Y] exhibition: https://melbourne.sciencegallery.com/emergence-y * Related Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKMo0uWRLc8 **Timeline** * 11:00am – Meet outside the gates of Science Gallery Melbourne and say hello * 11:15am – Head inside and explore the exhibition together * 12:45pm – Meetup ends (feel free to stay on if you'd like to keep looking around) **Cost** Free — Science Gallery Melbourne's website lists EMERGENCE[Y] as free admission with no booking required. Just turn up. **Transport** Science Gallery Melbourne is at the University of Melbourne in Parkville. It's an easy walk or tram ride from the city; trams along Swanston Street and Grattan Street stop nearby. Parking around Parkville is limited, so public transport is the easy option. **Bring** * Comfortable shoes for standing and wandering * Water and a curious mind **Expect** * Difficulty: Easy — a relaxed indoor stroll * Pace: Gentle, self-guided * Vibe: Curious, friendly and low-pressure * Group style: Casual and social **Important notes** * The gallery notes a content warning: the exhibition contains potential allergens, and references to the climate crisis, the concept of death and medical themes. * It's an indoor exhibition, so it runs rain or shine. * If your plans change, please update your RSVP so numbers stay clear.
