Intentional Connection: Hate Small Talk? Come Play, Make & Connect

Thu, Aug 13, 10:00 PM
From Beyond the Surface Conversations

The dating apps aren't working. The IRL meet-ups are draining - people you met aren't interested in connecting beyond the event. Sick of the people who "do" relationships casually? So are we. BeHeld is for those who believe friendships enhance your quality of life. Those who see the beauty in the bond between Rachel, Joey, Monica, Lisa and Chandler from Friends. It's also for: \- the singles who want to find their person\, \- the men looking for their bros and believe in self\-development\, \- the women who love hot girl walks\, run clubs\, puppies\, sleepovers\, brunch\, and belt out to "Who Run the World?" \- the men or women who struggle with vulnerability but have an appetite for deeper connections\. Not for: \- anyone who cannot stand being vulnerable with strangers \- anyone who currently cannot initiate plans on a regular or reciprocal basis; \- anyone who thinks ghosting is okay instead of communicating\. Event Outline: 1\. Gamified Icebreaker: You are given a mission to find the person in the room with a unique trait or hidden talent\. You will have to talk to everyone to get to the right person\. 2\. Group activity: Whether it's reverse charade or a card game\, these activities are meant to break walls \(figuratively\) and have everyone laughing\. 3\. Swap: You'll bond with other people after the group activity using card prompts\. You'll end up with one activity partner for the next activity\. 4\. Make something: Based on what you've learned about your partner\, you'll make something that represents them\. You'll leave with something made just for you\, plus voice notes from the people who made your night\. You choose who you want to meet again, and we'll take care of the rest.

**\*GET TICKETS AT:** [https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brooklyn-bridge-singles-sunset-date-walk-tickets-1307319671329](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/brooklyn-bridge-singles-sunset-date-walk-tickets-1307319671329) (\*First 5 ladies save $5 by using discount code "5" at checkout. Multiple groups are co-organizing so the RSVP's shown are just a very small portion of the total members attending. Space is extremely limited as this event sells out every time.) Kick off Spring by joining fun and friendly singles for a sunset stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge. Our "Date Walks" are very casual and non-awkward way to meet others. Your host will be there to make introductions and will have everyone rotate, asking the men and women to switch so everyone gets a chance to talk with everyone. We will first meet at a Starbucks where you can grab a drink for your walk. Then we'll walk a 1.5-2 mile stretch to the Brooklyn Bridge Park to NYC. We will also hang afterwards in a nearby area. FAQs: **How many will attend?** We limit the # of attendees to 30 so that everyone has enough time to get to know each other. **What are the ages?** We'll have a good mix of ages and everyone usually finds others in their age group. **What if rains?** We will email attendees a new date. **Can I come alone?** Yes, about 90% come on their own. **How much?** $15-$25 depending upon when you get ticket and # of spots left.
