The London Solopreneur Circle: First Gathering

The London Solopreneur Circle: First Gathering

Thu, Jun 11, 6:00 PM
From The London Solopreneur Circle

**This is the first meetup of The London Solopreneur Circle, a small peer group for people actively building independent businesses outside the traditional corporate path.** The aim is to create a thoughtful peer space for people building independent businesses to share what they are working on, what feels hard, what is moving forward, and how we can support each other. The goal is simple: Honest conversation, accountability, useful ideas, partnerships, friendship and momentum. This is a no-pitch environment. If your main goal is to sell to the room, this is not the right group. Each session will usually follow a simple format: 1\. What are you building right now? 2\. What moved forward since last time? 3\. What feels hard\, confusing or stuck? 4\. Useful opportunities\, intros\, tools or resources 5\. One concrete action each person commits to before next time Nothing formal is needed. Just bring: * a short intro to what you are building * one current challenge or question * a willingness to contribute honestly * useful ideas, contacts or resources where relevant * We meet in Central London, usually in a relaxed, informal venue where proper conversation is possible. Exact venue details will be shared before the event.

T.R.E Workshop -Stress, Anxiety, Physical Tension Release Exercises

T.R.E Workshop -Stress, Anxiety, Physical Tension Release Exercises

Sat, Jun 6, 11:00 AM
From Fun Activities to Do in London on a Weekend
4.7

For Anyone who has experienced stress, tension, or trauma can benefit from TRE®. It's especially helpful for individuals dealing with chronic stress, anxiety, physical tension, or past trauma. TRE® is also widely used by healthcare professionals, first responders, athletes, and individuals in high-stress environments. We have a TRE Expert: Jonathan to teach this class. **What is TRE**
TRE stands for tension releasing exercises. A set of simple exercises to help all people reduce stress and tension from their bodies and heal from challenging events in their lives. Through a series of seven warm up exercises that mildly stretch and fatigue the leg muscles, it activates the innate tremor mechanism of the body. When activated, the tremor mechanism makes the body shake gently and involuntary, helping us to literally ‘shake-off’ and release built up muscle tension in a safe and gentle way. The tremor mechanism has been used for 1000s of years of human history and is a psycho-physiological feature of all mammals. Have you seen a dog or cat shaking after hearing fireworks? Have you felt yourself shaking after a challenging event or lifting a heavy weight. This is your bodies way of regulating itself and bringing it back down to a healthy, relaxed, normal state of being. In TRE we create the shake in a calm and measured way and let the body tremble gently so a life-time of built up tension and stress can start to unwind itself and your authentic self, buried under years of conditioning, starts to shine through. Many people who practice TRE report results after three months of lower stress, lower anxiety levels, better sleep, reduced tension in their body and backs and generally feeling more present and connected to the world. Long term results include enabling people to connect more authentically with themselves and others, feeling more purposeful, improved relationships with loved ones and a renewed sense of their enjoyment of life. **About Jonathan Burton** Jonathan has been involved in the healing arts for over 20 years practicing various disciplines including yoga, meditation, tai-chi and Qigong. After serendipitously finding a TRE class in Thailand, it proved the catalyst for radical change, growth and a new purposeful direction in life. Using TRE as a platform to dive into much needed trauma work, Jonathan faced his worst fears and found light at the end of the dark tunnel. His passion is to share the gift of trauma healing to help others in their own journey to health, happiness and joy. A coach, men’s group facilitator and body worker and retreat's holder, Jonathan loves to share his gifts to support other people in finding their best selves to co-create the brilliant, loving World we all want to live in. **Location** Self Retreat Camden **Schedule** 12:00pm - 12:15pm - Welcomes and Prepare for Session (We will close the doors at 12:15pm) 12:15pm - 1:45pm - TRE Class 1:45pm - 2:00pm - Final Questions 2:00pm - After Social / Lunch /Tea or Coffee local **Total Cost** We are offering this session for £25 Only and you can get your spot below: https://buy.stripe.com/8x228qgNmdg88J5bV84ZG3R This is limited to 20 spots Only so best to make payment as soon as you can Any other questions let us know

Practical Philosophy Club Meetup - London 🇬🇧

Practical Philosophy Club Meetup - London 🇬🇧

Sat, May 30, 1:00 PM
From Practical Philosophy Club - London UK 🇬🇧
4.8

**🏛️ WHAT'S PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY ABOUT?** Practical Philosophy is a weekly meet-up that brings critical thinkers together for an opportunity to dive deep on a topic, practice communicating, and building a community. All with no ‘official’ philosophy knowledge required! 😎 Practical Philosophy is based on the idea that philosophy should be accessible to all, and not something reserved only for academics. Each week we choose a topic, and the goal is to use the conversation to develop our critical thinking and communication as we explore that topic. The goal is to help develop our Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community 🙌 📓 **HOW DOES IT WORK?** Each week, we pick one topic and discuss it. The topic for the week is shared, generally in the [Whatsapp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/B6fqS6HGujq8gb3a0kl5pS), along with jump-off points to get the conversation going. When groups get bigger than 7-8 people, it’s important that we break into smaller groups. This way we are able to maintain a conversational flow as opposed to having our meetups feel like a discourse or lecture. **General Meeting Agenda** Each Practical Philosophy meet-up follows this general timeline: * 14:00-14.15 - People arrive and chat, get to know each other before the ‘official' start. * 14:15-14:20 - Meeting introduction, explanation of Practical Philosophy and the topic for the week, read the guidelines and the overview so attendees know what to expect in terms of timelines. * 14:20-15:20 - Break into small groups - introduce yourselves and general thoughts on the topic, open discussion afterwards. At this point the group can review the ‘jump-off’ questions as needed, but they are just there to help guide the conversation. It’s not obligatory to answer them. * 15:20-15:30 - We do a group conclusion of the things we discussed, and then we typically take a photo and go on our way :) If you don't want to be in the group photo, there's no pressure, it's just a way to close out the meeting. We occasionally have an unofficial social so the different groups can mingle afterwards too! **🧧PRICING?** Practical Philosophy Club is FREE to attend, and we operate on donations. If you'd like to donate to support our running costs, that helps keep our group self-sustaining. Donations are 100% voluntary, but your contribution is appreciated! QR codes to donate will be present. Tea’s and coffees and are paid by the individual should they wish to have them. **💛 WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY** 🗣 “I feel like Philosophy Club helps someone build their own belief system through a series of perspectives while not promoting what’s right and wrong” - Ekam 🗣 “I got hooked from day 1 (the topic was authority) and felt it was the right place for me. I feel it is a place where people can go to learn and discuss new perspectives and increase critical thinking and community by interacting with people who might challenge your point of views but at the same time encourage you to have openness and mind flexibility.” - Daniel **🤓 FAQ** * What will we talk about? What's the topic? The topic for the week is shared every week in the Whatsapp group before the session. We try to add the topic to the comment section on this event page as well but if you don’t see it, the topic and the jump-off points will be in our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/B6fqS6HGujq8gb3a0kl5pS). * Do I need to study or read anything to attend? No preparation is necessary. This isn’t a study of other thinkers. We want to know what YOU think about the topic, not what an old philosopher thought. If you have a perspective from a religion or a school of thought to share, throw it on the table and we’ll discuss it, but it's not required. * Is there a specific philosophy that Practical Philosophy is focused on? The goal of our meet-ups is to not have dogmatic discussions, and flex our critical thinking muscles. Because of this, we want to hear from every realm of thought, and don't study a particular school. * Is it mostly men that attend? Surprisingly, no! Although philosophy is seen as a Candelabra affair in a dark room with a bunch of guys, our Practical Philosophy meetups are generally 50/50 between genders, and we don’t meet in any dark rooms. * Can I come alone? Of course you can, we encourage it :) * Can I be late? Please don't be! We do have a 15 minute grace period where we allow people to funnel in while we hang out, but after that if you arrive too late, it disrupts the flow of the conversation. * Where do you meet? The location is posted in Meetup and our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/B6fqS6HGujq8gb3a0kl5pS) group for this location. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you join the Whatsapp group! If you want to know what other cities have a Practical Philosophy Club, you can see our chapters on our [website](https://www.practicalphilosophy.club/practical-philosophy-locations/). 🤝**POLICY** To respect our members privacy, we ask that no one privately message a member without first getting explicit consent. (This looks like speaking in person and being asked to message privately.) Contacting or texting other participants without prior consent is not permitted and may result in removal from the group. Practical Philosophy reserves the right to enforce this policy at its discretion to maintain a safe and respectful environment. **PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY - Making Philosophy Available To All.** ✨ Practical Philosophy hosts weekly, in-person meetups in 25+ countries, including Canada, Spain, Japan, Mexico and many more! 🗺️ \*\*\* Join our [Whatsapp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/B6fqS6HGujq8gb3a0kl5pS) 👈 Follow us on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/practicalphilosophyclub/?hl=en) 👈 Our [website](https://www.practicalphilosophy.club) 👈
