Yantra painting workshop: Sacred Art as Meditation
Sat, Aug 1, 1:30 PMIn the yogic tradition, a yantra is a sacred diagram , a visual mantra that guides the mind from the outer world into inner stillness. Rooted in ancient Indian spiritual wisdom, yantras have long served as instruments of transformation, awakening clarity, harmony, and deeper awareness. Through form, color, and vibration, they gently align the individual with the Divine. Step into this transformative practice, where art becomes meditation and sacred geometry becomes a pathway to healing and self-discovery. In this immersive, hands-on workshop, you'll be introduced to the meaning and symbolism of traditional yantras and guided step by step through the mindful process of creating your own, beginning with a simple template and gradually bringing it to life through gentle, focused work. As the mind settles into the rhythm of drawing and painting, the practice unfolds as meditation, quieting the senses, deepening intuition, and drawing awareness into the present moment. The emphasis here is not on artistic perfection, but on presence, patience, and inner alignment. **No artistic experience is required - just an open mind and a willingness to create.** 📅 **Date:** 8/1/2026 🕡 **Time:** 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM 📍 **Location:** Sivananda NYC Center (243 W 24th Street, NY 10011) 💵 **Fee:** $60 🔗 **Register here:** https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/ws?studioid=452403&stype=-8&sTG=28&sView=day&sLoc=0&sTrn=100000208&date=08/01/26
