Sun, May 31, 6:00 PM*\*\*Please read the Community Code on the Group Description page before you RSVP\*\** *****What to Expect***: **We'll spend around 3-4 hours outdoors in the city, making art and enjoying each other's company. After the painting session, we will go to a nearby cafe/restaurant to further connect. Expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where you can unleash your creativity and connect with fellow artists. ***This session is Part 1 of a three-part series at this location. Returning participants can develop more finished work, scale up to a larger canvas, or explore different motifs across sessions.*** *****Elizabeth Street Garden** (ESG)*** in Manhattan’s Nolita neighborhood is a community garden that has become a symbol of resistance against urban development. The park, which occupies a 20,000-square-foot lot between Prince and Spring Streets, was established in the 1990s by a local business owner, Allan Reiver, who leased the land from the city and filled it with sculptures and greenery. Over time, it became a beloved green space for residents. For a detailed account of the garden's history and its current status, please visit elizabethstreetgarden.com ** ***Agenda***** ** 2:00 PM - 2:10 P**M: We'll gather under the entrance of the Garden, then explore the park and nearby streets for the next 15-20 minutes to find the perfect spot for our easels this afternoon ** 2:30 PM : 4:30 PM **Painting session ** 4:30- 5:00PM **\- Regroup and Show and Tell\**. *(times are tentative, exact times will be announced during the event*** If you are new, Introduce yourself and your art practice, with the group, share your work(optional), sources of inspiration, and thoughts on the overall experience ** After 5 PM **we'll head out of the garden and get some grub at a nearby place We encourage you to stay as this is the part that helps us truly connect and foster a meaningful connection with each other ** ***What to Bring***** 1\. Something to paint with \- your preferred painting mediums\, oil paints\, watercolors\, acrylics\, gouache\, ink\, pastel\, markers etc Brushes, pens and or pencil 2\. Something to paint on \- linen\, canvas\, paper\, sketchbook etc 3\. Easels/pochade box \(optional Beginners can join in with just a sketchbook or an iPad 4\. Artwork Out Session at the Park

We’re popping up for a surprise Artwork Out to pair with the park’s circus roots 🎪✨ We will be rolling out a creative picnic, hanging out on the grass, and stretching our creative muscles as we try an art activity inspired by Janet Morgan's tile art called "The Circus Comes to Town." While you create, learn about Madison Square Park's history of circus tents and meet other creatives. We will be there from noon to 3PM... so catch us if you can! Look for us on the lawn (we’ll have our sketchbooks and orange clipboards out). No tickets needed, just swing by and join the fun.
