Originally from the United States, she studied creative writing as an undergraduate and later completed a master’s degree in translation at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Gays Can Read in Aug: PALAVER

Sat, Aug 22, 9:00 AM
From Gays Can Read: Barcelona

**Book club for LGBT+ English-speaking transplants in Barcelona.** **In Aug. we’re reading:** **PALAVER, by Bryan Washington 📖** In his third novel, Washington explores family estrangement, queer identity, and imperfect communication. Sound familiar, homos? A mother and son awkwardly reunite in Tokyo after 12-years! The story is told non-linearly, so it might be a Chris Nolan movie someday. Pick up a copy at your favorite local Queer and/or English-language bookstore! **We’ll meet 22 Aug at 11:00am, at VIVARI Coffee & Bakery (Consell de Cent 280)** in L’Eixample to discuss the book, then share in our experiences as friends of Dorothy in a new land. 💅 Everyone in the rainbow alphabet is welcome! **[Join the WhatsApp group for direct updates](https://chat.whatsapp.com/EKg3d60INeC5a1IA8H7Pnb)** Other *Gays Can Read* events: 03 Sep - Happy Hour & Book Swap 12 Sep - Book Club: The Safekeep, Yael Van Der Wouden 10 Oct - Book Club: Trust, Hernán Díaz (bc Dua Lipa) 07 Nov - Book Club: In Memoriam, Alice Winn 25 Dec - Book Club: No reading. Eat for Jesus.
