Sometimes it's easier when your hands are busy. Join us for a cosy afternoon of crafting, conversation, and community at Library at the Dock. This low-pressure social gathering is open to queer and sapphic women aged 18+ who would like a quiet, welcoming space to connect with others. Bring along your own craft project (no paint / things that might stain tables please), settle in with some colouring, or simply come for a chat. Not particularly crafty? No problem. We'll also have playing cards and optional conversation prompts available to help break the ice and make meeting new people feel a little easier. Your host, Jenny, is a passionate queer community facilitator who loves creating spaces where women can relax, be themselves, and build meaningful connections. Whether you're new to Melbourne, looking to expand your social circle, or simply keen to spend an afternoon with like-minded people, we'd love to have you join us. **A few things to know:** • This is an alcohol-free event • Please bring your own craft supplies if you'd like to work on a project • Venue capacity is limited to 24 people, so bookings are essential • LGBT+ Social Hub Melbourne is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment. Join us for a chill artsy afternoon, bring any art supplies you like 👩‍🎨🎨📝✨ Access to O3Space requires you to have the minimum ( FREE! ) membership that you sign up for when you download their app. Simply download the O3Space app, create a profile and use the QR code at the gate to enter/exit the building. The gate is located inside the tram on the right side of the cafe ☕️🚊 The free membership allows you in the building for up to 3 hours per week, if you go over they might charge you so make sure to use the QR code on your way out!! There is a timer countdown in the app so you know how long you have been there ⏰

Join us for a relaxing time of folding together at the Realm library in Ringwood! We'll be in Meeting Room 3 on Level 2. Bring a fun origami project to fold and share, all while chatting and meeting other origami enthusiasts! Standard origami paper will be provided. We just ask for a gold coin to help with group expenses.

Inclusive Grief Circle: Honouring Loss Through Ceremony, Community & Creativity

Subconsciously, we are awaiting the presence of others, before we can feel safe enough to drop to our knees on the holy ground of sorrow. For the most part, grief is not a problem to be solved, not a condition to be medicated, but a deep encounter with an essential experience of being human. Grief becomes problematic when the conditions needed to help us work with grief are absent.” - Francis Weller Our primary association with grief is the loss of a loved one but there are so many kinds of losses that don't have formal ceremonies that are important to honour. Unprocessed grief can accumulate in weight, dulling our senses and capacity for aliveness. This is a safe, supportive space for all shapes, sizes and textures of grief- for the loss of our loved ones, for the childhood we did not get to have, for the parts of ourselves that have been rejected and exiled, for friendships and relationships with ambiguous endings, for homes and communities we are distanced from and miss, for the suffering of the world and our fellow beings. This inclusive grief circle is also an advocacy for compassionate and attentive grief work, for reshaping our understanding of and relationship with grief. It is a holding space, a container, a time and a deep permission to acknowledge our emotions, our connections, the ways we have been touched and transformed, and our humanity. We will make art in response to the Artist Grief Deck, participate in a burning ritual, share and witness each other’s stories and journeys, and co-create a group nature mandala together. **Please bring a jar and 8-10 similar natural objects (8 flowers or 8 sticks or 8 stones).** If you are facing financial hardship, please key in CONCESSION as a promo code for a discounted price of $25.
