Get creative at this monthly event based around drawing from a costumed figure, with a welcoming atmoshere suitable for all levels, from beginner upwards. Two hours of drawing our model Yishu with a half time break for drinks from the bar, with an extra half an hour+ at the end for showing drawings, chatting and drinking. Music backing throughout mixed and curated by AngieB. All materials provided included range of papers, charcoal, pencils, chalks and colours. No experience necessary. Welcoming atmosphere and guidance from host, Rod Kitson an artist with years of experience practicing art and teaching in an accessible and relatable manner. Bringing a successful format from his regular life drawing classes and upgrading the vibes. Stunning views across the dock from the upstairs of the iconic Corner Corner event space. Directions: It's the big green building at the Red Bridge end of Surrey Quays shopping centre, next to Canada Water tube station. Turn left at the bar to go upstairs. £15 advance tickets (plus fees). This celebration is a fun way to experience Tanabata (七夕), a traditional Japanese summer festival that blends mythology, customs, and making wishes under the stars. Join us to celebrate the Tanabata Star Festival, a centuries-old tradition inspired by the romantic legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi - two celestial lovers separated by the Milky Way, who are allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh night of the seventh month. On this night, it is believed that wishes written on Earth are carried up to the stars and may come true. Across Japan, Tanabata is marked by vibrant bamboo decorations, colourful paper wishes, and gentle summer breezes that carry hopes into the night sky. It is a festival that celebrates longing, connection, and the beauty of dreaming beneath the stars. As with all our drop in classes – expect professional tutors and models in an inspiring and unique space. With poses from 30 seconds to one hour – there is something for everyone.
