Shut Up & Write!® in Koreatown

Shut Up & Write!® in Koreatown

Sat, Jul 4, 6:30 PM
From Shut Up & Write!® Los Angeles
4.8

Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 11:30 AM on SATURDAY MORNING. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 11:30 - Quick introductions 11:45 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 12:45 - The End: chat, take off, or keep writing OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 1:00 PM. Writing is very solitary. Connecting and sometimes even commiserating with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with me after the session. I’ll be the person with the Shut Up & Write! sign. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you at LOFT CAFE! What Should I Bring? Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons. LOFT Cafe has wi-fi and it is very reliable but there is a shortage of outlets (nothing is perfect :-)) If you will be using your laptop, please make sure is fully charged, a tidbit of information that I wish someone would have shared with me before :-) Other Important Details: LOFT Cafe offers Wi-Fi, it has available designated parking spaces on the lot next door (please make sure you park on the correct spaces), and there is street parking but it is Koreatown and is busy, the Western-Wilshire Metro and several bus stops are one block away. TRAVEL / PARKING: Please see above SEATING INFORMATION: There is outdoor seating available if you are more comfortable with that, please let me know in your comments, and there is upstairs and downstairs seating. By experience upstairs provides more privacy, but let me know your preference and I will reserve that section. GUIDELINES: The Cafe provides extensive coffee drinks (caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks) and small pastries. Please thank our hosts by purchasing something.
