First MeetUp: Book Club of Not Knowing

First MeetUp: Book Club of Not Knowing

Thu, Aug 13, 4:00 PM
From Book Club of Not Knowing

*It makes a vast difference to experientially work it to the best of your ability rather than just hear about it and intellectually understand.* (From Ralston's "Pursuing Consciousness") If you have any interest in consciousness work, contemplation, or discovering who you are, what life is, etc., please read the group description. Everybody is welcome, no matter the familiarity with the matter, as long as there is a genuine interest. **Our agenda** 1\. Briefly getting to know each other 2\. Individually reading for about 30 minutes\. It can be any part of any of Ralston's books or similar material\. *No need to bring anything*. 3\. Sharing what we've read and contemplating each part silently for about 5 minutes\. 4\. More exercises or reading\, depending on the sentiment of the group\. E\.g\.\, dyads\, meditation, etc\. 5\. Feedback & outlook for future meetups\. 6\. Open ended socialising for whoever wants\. We won't share the "results" of our contemplations, unless somebody feels the need or thinks it might be valuable for the group. The reason for this is to avoid pressure during the contemplation, that can arise if we know we'll "have to" share what we "achieved". If anybody wants to attend **online**, we can make that possible too with a good laptop & speaker.

Sun, Aug 2, 1:00 PM
From Berlin Arabic Book Club
5.0

📚 **Berlin Arabic Book Club – Weekly Meetup** Join us for our weekly book discussion. Whether you're reading a novel in Arabic, a memoir in English, or a philosophical essay in German, you're welcome to bring it and share a few thoughts. Each session is relaxed, with no required reading — just bring a book you’re currently into or one you’ve read and want to talk about. ### 🔸 What to Expect: * We gather, grab coffee or tea ☕, and introduce ourselves. * Each member briefly talks about their book (any language is fine: Arabic, English, or German). * We open the floor for conversation, questions, or thoughts sparked by the books. * Cultural exchange is encouraged! ### 🔸 What to Bring: * A book you're reading or one you'd love to talk about. * An open mind and curiosity.

Women’s Book Club: The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion

Sat, Aug 8, 12:30 PM
From Kreuzberg Women's Book Club
4.8

This time we will be discussing **Joan Didion: The Year of Magical Thinking.** We look forward to seeing you! If you have book suggestions, would like to vote on our next reads, or join us for additional activities, please ask someone at the meeting to add you to our WhatsApp group. Just a heads up: **The cafe only accepts card payments for amounts over €10**, so you may want to bring some cash for smaller orders. Please remember to cancel your participation in good time if you are not coming. This will give someone else enough time to read the book and come to the meeting.

Spandau Boardgames Evening + Blood on the Clocktower

Spandau Boardgames Evening + Blood on the Clocktower

Fri, Aug 7, 5:00 PM
From New Friends Community Spandau
4.9

:) \-\-\- **EN** \-\-\- **We are meeting on the 7th of August at 7 pm for a relaxed Boardgames Evening at the small café of the Paul-Schneider-Haus! We usually play various kinds of games ranging from party to expert-level games, which we bring along ourselves. There are no games there, so we rely on what we bring. But also don't worry, if you have nothing to bring.** **This time there will be a dedicated group of blood on the clocktower players, as well.** **You can either buy drinks there or bring your own if you prefer. Can't wait to see you there :)** We want to create a community where people can meet, exchange ideas and share new experiences. Our aim is to create an open and friendly atmosphere where you can find new friends and have interesting conversations. Are you new to Spandau and haven't really found your place yet? Have you been living in Spandau for a while and don't always want to travel to Mitte to experience something new? If you would like to become part of this community and experience some great moments together, you are welcome to join us! We are happy to see you soon! :)
