Board gaming on Friday nights in Sherman Oaks

Friday Night Board Gaming (formerly Friday Night Dice) is a meetup for everyone who likes board games. And if you’re new to board games, our friendly gamers are happy to teach you how to play. We play basic European board games like Settlers of Catan, Ticket To Ride, etc., and more advanced games like Suburbia, Power Grid, Terraforming Mars, and Railways of the World. Also war games & card games. We bring lots of games, but you’re free to bring your own! We used to game at LASFS (Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society) in Van Nuys. However, as that organization sold its building we have moved to Paper Hero's and Games, a game store in Sherman Oaks, and we continue to meet every Friday late afternoon and evening. We share the gaming space with a large group of Magic the Gathering players but we easily have room for between 10 to 20 board gamers who usually show up for board games. Most of these gamers are regulars who just don't bother to RSVP as this is a store open to all comers and requiring a Yes RSVP is not feasible as we are often joined by store customers who see what we are doing and ask to join in - and we always say YES! (As most gamers do not bother to RSVP, quite often our home page will just show me as the only attendee even though we may have almost 2 dozen gamers at our tables. So, if the home page shows just 1 person attending, pay no attention to that as we may very well have full house of gamers.) So come on down and get your gaming fix this Friday at the friendly and comfortable game store. We have beginners and advanced gamers, so everyone is welcome.

Venmo: @BrandonF51
Zelle: 7325973400 Location: Odyssey Games Pasadena Please only sign up if you are guaranteed to make it and can be there by 6:00 as we need an accurate head count for this game, thanks so much! Join the Los Angeles Ultimate Werewolf Game Meetup Group for a fun-filled evening of social deduction games! And now introducing thanks to our Blood Moderator Trevor: # 🩸 Blood on the Clocktower 🩸 **Blood on the Clocktower** is a social deduction board game where players take on secret roles in a haunted village. Most players are **good**, trying to identify and execute the hidden **Demon**, while a small **evil team** works together to deceive the town and eliminate players each night. Unlike games like *Werewolf* or *Mafia*, eliminated players **stay in the game**—they can continue discussing, voting, and influencing the outcome until the very end. Every player also has a unique character with a special ability, creating endless strategy, bluffing, and unforgettable moments. Whether you're a veteran or you've never played before, you're welcome! New players are encouraged to arrive a little early for a rules explanation before the first game begins. If you enjoy strategy games, deception, psychology, or trying to read people, you'll love Blood on the Clocktower. Come ready to lie, investigate, persuade... and maybe save the town.

More audience participation, more comedy, new Halloween themed roles and Halloween costumes! Looking for Friday night spooky plans before Halloween? Come out and meet this great community. Part social-deduction tournament. Complete chaos. Six professional comedians who have performed at venues including The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv, and the Laugh Factory will compete across three live games of Ultimate Werewolf alongside volunteers selected from the audience. A few players will secretly be assigned as werewolves. Everyone else must identify them before the werewolves eliminate the entire village. Expect bluffing, accusations, alliances, betrayals, ridiculous defenses, and extremely confident decisions based on almost no information. PLAY OR WATCH Want to play? We save several onstage game spots for audience members who want to come and compete against the comedians. Prefer to watch? That works too. Follow the mystery, root for your favorite players, and try to identify the werewolves from your seat. Audience participation is completely optional, and no previous Werewolf experience is required. The rules will be explained, and each game will be hosted so the action is easy and fun to follow. The comedians will earn points throughout the tournament. The top three will qualify to return for the next show, and the evening’s champion will close the night with a victory stand-up set. WHAT TO EXPECT • Three fast-paced games of Ultimate Werewolf • Six professional comedians competing in a live tournament • Audience volunteers invited onstage to challenge them • Live hosting, commentary, interrogations, and eliminations • Points, rivalries, and a recurring league leaderboard • A stand-up set from the evening’s champion • Approximately two hours of comedy and social-deduction chaos Come play your favorite game in a fun new format—or sit back and watch professional comedians discover that being funny does not necessarily make them good at lying. **EVENT DETAILS** Doors: 7:45 p.m. Show: 8:00 p.m. Location: The Zebra Room Address: 5176 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 102, Los Angeles, CA 90029 Building: Historic Chaplin Studio Gate code: #5176 *Who will survive? Who will become champion? And which comedian will confidently destroy their own team?* Come find out—and maybe take them down yourself.
