Southbank Vinyl

Southbank Vinyl

Wed, Aug 5, 6:30 PM
From Southbank Vinyl
4.9

NEW VENUE! NEW REGULAR DAY! We're now back to where Southbank Vinyl began in 2017 - The Roebuck Pub in Borough (50 Great Dover St, London SE1 4YG). We're now meeting the first Wednesday of each month at the Roebuck, where great food and drink options are available and we have our own room upstairs to play our records on the deck. Come along with a bunch of vinyl you'd like to play and share with us! This month we're heading north to Manchester, but before you dig out the usual suspects – Manchester is home to post-punk, acid house, indie, electronica, rave, soul and pop as much as it is bucket hats and parkas. So expect a mix of the melancholic and the euphoric; jangling guitars and rave-drenched synths. Join us for a melon-twisting evening as we celebrate one of Britain's most influential musical cities. Grab a drink, enjoy some records. And don't forget to RSVP!

THE ART OF ATTRACTION: A Singles Gallery Experience at the V&A

From London Social Society
4.2

## ***🚨 Important: Meetup RSVP is not a valid ticket. All attendees must purchase a ticket via our [TICKET LINK!](https://fatso.ma/f2b2j)*** **Looking for a more meaningful way to meet new people?** Join us for a unique singles experience where art becomes the conversation starter and connections are discovered through shared perspectives, engaging discussions, and mutual attraction. **Welcome & Registration** We begin at the V&A Café with coffee, introductions, and registration on the C&C app. This relaxed start gives everyone the opportunity to settle in, meet fellow participants, and prepare for the experience ahead. Guests will then be divided into small groups of 5–6 people and set off to explore the museum. **The Gallery Challenge** As you explore the V&A, your mission is to find and photograph an artwork or object that represents: ❤️ **Love** ✨ **Your Ideal Life** 🎭 **Your Personality** The challenge encourages meaningful conversations and offers a unique insight into how others see themselves, their aspirations, and what matters most to them. Every 20 minutes, groups will rotate, giving you the opportunity to meet and connect with different people throughout the experience. **Coffee, Conversations & Connections** After the gallery challenge, we'll return to the V&A Café. Each participant will select one favourite photo from the challenge and have up to one minute to explain why they chose it and how it relates to the chosen category. We'll also discover whether anyone selected the same artwork for the same challenge category, creating fun and unexpected connections. These short presentations often reveal far more than a traditional introduction ever could and provide excellent conversation starters for the rest of the event. **The Match Experience** After getting to know one another through the gallery challenge and discussions, guests can privately indicate through the C&C app who they would like to see again. If two people select each other, it's a match. Mutual matches will be revealed instantly through the app as soon as both parties have selected one another. **No awkward speed dating.** **No forced pairings.** **No pressure.** **Just genuine conversations and meaningful connections.** **Schedule** **11:00 AM** – Meet at the V&A Café **11:15 AM** – Welcome, Coffee & App Registration **11:30 AM** – Gallery Challenge Begins **11:50 AM** – First Group Rotation **12:10 PM** – Second Group Rotation **12:30 PM** – Return to Café **12:40 PM** – Favourite Photo Presentations **1:10 PM** – C&C Matching Opens **1:20 PM** – Coffee, Conversations & New Connections **2:00 PM** – Event Ends **Who knows? Camden Passage Islington Picture Hunt

Camden Passage Islington Picture Hunt

Mon, Aug 3, 12:30 PM
From London Urban Adventurers
4.7

We meet outside Angel Islington tube station. We mark up at Wetherspoon Highbury Corner. How are your detecting skills? Welcome to another of our many outside Picture Hunts this year. This time, the event will be centred around shop fronts, buildings and features around Camden Passage Islington antiques area. There’s no crossing of busy roads. If you’re new to Picture Hunts, check photos below and previous events for winners and clue sheets. Pkease aim to turn up for 1:00-1:30 when teams are being arranged. As usual, portions of the road are split up into four areas where teams search for the locations of photographed items in the street, buildings or shop windows, and then record where they found them. Picture Hunts are a great new way to get up to speed with slices of London history while sleuthing around the area. Everyone is presented with twenty partial photos of objects around an area. Your team mission is to find them. Some well known, some well unknown! This makes Picture Hunts more interesting and challenging, bringing out the best of your teams detecting skills. You will also have a map of the area. It will be sub-divided into four sections, P, Q, R, S. Each photo will come from one of these. Four players max per team, but the lower number teams get a point per player start from the biggest team. For example, four teams of one, two, three and four. Four player team, no advantage, (the biggest and theoretically the more knowledge between them, except it doesn't always work like that). Three player team, one point start. Two player team, two point start. One player team, three point start. Scores are always close and around the 15-20 points mark. How many players do you want in your team? There's a dilemma! The clipboard holder enters one of the letters to note its area location. Dead simple, right? 90 minutes to do the hunt. We have the usual prizes of chocolate, including some great new varieties. There is also an equal prize for the funniest team name. Names win prizes too! So there’s everything to play for. We mark up at White Swan highbury corner. Hunts are good fun and the proven experience so far is that members get to know each other better after working in teams as you all have to communicate. Great icebreakers. This is what Meetup is all about. Come and join us. There is a £7 cash/card charge for this event. Contact number on the day is 07422334411 if your transport is delayed. **If you can’t make it, please cancel using the “Edit RSVP Button”.** **Your consideration is greatly appreciated.**
