♫ Musical Walk: From Beatles House To Soho Britpop With Tunes & Drinks

From 🥂Young Urban London Professionals Collective

If you love music and fun infused popular culture walks then this will be right up your street! Led by a life long passionate music fan, radio & club DJ, ex Journalist and Musicologist (me!)- we will walk hidden historic musical streets littered with musical fame and showbiz to uncover **A Day in the Life** of the Beatles in London... Yep - we're talkin about those four scousers who wrote and recorded some of the greatest songs ever conjured. During this epic **Revolution**ary 7 mile British musical adventure through the heart of London - we''ll discover "memories longer than the roads that stretch out ahead" as we visit key monumental landmarks that encapsulated their time in London including that world famous iconic zebra crossing! Of course I share interesting stories as we relive and hear some of those 227 **Magical Mystery** songs (get your track requests in!) as we take that trip down musical memory lane. Ironically the tour will commence at the site of their last ever official live performance. We'll then take **The** **Long And Winding Road** down to John's residence, the gallery where he met Yoko, the church where Paul married Linda, the recording studio where **Hey Jude** was recorded, pass Ringo's townhouse where Jimi Hendrix lived and **Eleanor Rigby** was composed and glimpise George Harrison's favourite Indian restaurant in Soho. Later - with a **Little Help From Our Friend** Gerry Rafferty - we'll pass Baker Street **-** home to the original Apple records and expereince landmarks where films like **Hard Day's Night** were shot. Then we''ll swiftly take a relaxing walk passing Lord's cricket ground to those world famous Abbey Road studios where their last few albums were recorded including the ground breaking experimental White LP. On to Paul's house - we'll pass the **Helter Skelter** cafe + lots more! And for fellow dedicated followers of fashion (yeah I know it's a song from a rival l band!) - we'll pop into Stella McCartney's fashion boutique to see if she has any **Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Clubs** uniforms in stock... To maximise interactive engagement, fun and music love, I'll dish out random trivia questions (e.g which Beatles song was transmitted by NASA to star system Polaris to initiate alien contact?), jokes and take **song requests** on the way play a few **From Me To You** at key monuments! Lastly we'll learn the history, meaning and inspiration behind those 227 puzzling **Rock and Roll Music** songs. And if you want to know what a particular song/lyrics was about/meaning - just ask! Don't worry - no paid **Ticket To Ride** needed to aboard this musical escapade - like all our events - attendance is 100% free - as long as you are genuinely passionate about music (preferably like Beatles music!) **Medium to Fast Paced Walk / Fitness Test** Accept for stops at key monuments, this will be a non stop continuous **7 mile** "hike" at a **medium to fast pace** so it's advisable to wear trainers/something comfortable though an **Old Brown Shoe** will suffice as well. Unfortunately, given the large distance that will be covered in a relatively short time frame (2.5 hours) - if you are a slow walker/impaired or not very fit- this event might not be appropriate for you. A quick basic fitness test would be - can you easily run 10 meters fast without any issues? Lastly - **I Don't Want To Spoil The Party** but the no go decision is obviously weather dependent so let's hope it turns out to be a **Good Day Sunshine**. If any significant or prolonged **Rain** is forecast then we will postpone to a future date. The tour will end in Soho - Central London **The Fool On The Hill** Lucas

🌌Ever look up and marvel with insatiable curiosity at the beauty and wonder of the **universe?** That wild sobering thought that somewhere in the chaos of creation - the emergence of life - the universe became **conscious** enough to look back in time and not just ask the existential questions, but try to answer them. And now, in our own small moment of cosmic history, join to see rare Solar sun block last seen in UK skies in 1999 and one that will no return again until the year 2090. 🚀 **But there’s more celestial wonder**: After the eclipse ends and skies darken - using telescope we’ll tale a look at **Jupiter,** along with planet's potential life‑harbouring **moons**, Saturn and those amzing rings, iconic beautiful **star fields**, the remnants of supernovae witnessed by our earliest ancestors, **multi‑star systems** reminiscent of the twin suns of *Star Wars* and even **Tau Ceti**, a star hosting two Earth‑like worlds in its habitable zone. Plus Meteors All of this under the spring evening - with drinks, engaging conversation, and good‑natured banter — this April. In between observing - we'll have **drinks and engaging chats** on all astronomy related topics for those inclined: Space exploration \| Fermi Paradox \| Astrobiology \| Cosmology \| paleontology\, \| SETI & Drake Equation for alien civilisations estimates \| exoplanetology etc as well as non space chats and banter too\. No doubt we'll hear the usual jokes we've all heard before\! If those don't make you laugh\, my impersonation of Los Angeles ET will\! 👽 And to help set the mood and make the night feel even extra galactic, I’ll put my DJ hat to play some space‑themed tunes and songs about the stars! You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). If you have your own telescope/binoculars feel free to bring along and I can help you setting it up if you're a newbie **==== ITINERARY =====** We will meet outside H&I Station in Highbury Islington. After a short wait for anyone delayed, I will escort everyone to our observation point in the local park 5 minutes walk away and brief you in terms of what to expect, observing etiquette, tips, equipment handling and take any questions you have - weather general or astronomy/cosmology related. **After Drinks:** Unless I have a very important 9AM Tue deadline for a unfinished client presentation or something - most of us usually head to a cosy bar for a drink. If so - I will annouce the pub when we leave the park **==== What Can You Expect To See (this time of year)? ====** * Jupiter and 4 moons * Meteors * Andromedia Galaxy * Star clusters such as the Pleiades & Owl Cluster etc * International Space station fly by * Binary & tripple star systems (think planet *Tatooine in* Starwars!), * Neptune * Uranuus * Our moon * A look towards the galactic centre of the Mlikyway where that supermassive £22b Labour black hole sits (Sagittarius A) More here from Jodrell Bank Observatory/Astrophysics Centre: [http://www.jb.man.ac.uk/astronomy/nightsky/](http://www.jb.man.ac.uk/astronomy/nightsky/) Guide to viewing the cosmos for beginners: [https://phys.org/news/2018-05-universe-distant-starstips-cosmology-backyard.html#jCp](https://phys.org/news/2018-05-universe-distant-starstips-cosmology-backyard.html#jCp) **===Weather Dependent=====** The event is subject to clear skies forecasts on the night so if on the actual afternoon of the event the weather forecasts looks unsuitable beyond doubt then I will postpone so please check the event status on the day of the event . If you're looking for sensational headlines - my group is defo not for you! But seriously - do you look up and marvel with insatiable curiosity at both the beauty and the wonder of the **universe?** How it began, our place in it, how life evolved and where else in the cosmos other non-microbial life might live (every star you see has exoplanets orbiting (some are rocky Earth like planets like ours with atmospheres) so u have to be naively delusional to believe we are alone in the universe)? And no I didn't make it up - unless you've been in hibernation or have zero idea about Humanity's greatest endeavours - you'll know **NASA** really have found the best evidence to date of **ancient life on Mars** following further scientific verification of the biological signatures of current microbe life discovered on Venus a few years ago. So we'll defo take a look at the red planet as well the majestic rings of **Saturn and it's** potential life harbouring moon, , the international space station, Tau Ceti star with **2 Earth like planets** orbiting in the habitable zone, remnants of **supernova** witnessed by our early ancestors plus a range of other fascinating celestial wonderments (comets, star systems, **galaxies**) over drinks and engaging chats and banter this Aug fully hosted by me - a passionate amateur astronomer and former global Reuters journalist covering cutting edge big picture science related stories. In between observing - we'll have **drinks and engaging chats** on all astronomy related topics for those inclined (Astrobiology, SETI/Femi Paradox, cosmology, space exploration, exoplanetology, astrophysics etc) as well as non space chatter and banter too.
