🚴‍♂️Take this distinctive route from Putney Bridge to Richmond Bridge & Richmond Park (via River Thames path and Richmond Park's Tamsin Trail). *[Event is subject to weather conditions]* 📺 [Blast from the past](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1Uk4JGt_Nc) ⛔ No racing bikes/thin wheels or electric bikes. ⛑️ Even though the vast majority (\~90%) of the route is off road, you can only attend this event if you are proficient on the road and and will take responsible for your own safety! 🔄 Starts/Ends at Putney Library. 🚲 Cycling: Ideally bring your own bike that can be used off road - **not suitable for racers/thin wheeled bikes**. Alternately you could hire a Santander cycle near Putney Rail Station - not ideal but an option as hiring nearby is unlikely on a Sunday. The path is predominantly off road, however there are certain points we need to be on the road or navigate across. 🟢 BIKE: 📏 35km (21.7 miles) 🏔️ 175m 💓 Av. Pace: 13km/h 📍Meeting point: Outside Putney Library (Disraeli Road - next to Putney Rail Station). Meet from 10:15am and we start at **10:31am**. Please make sure to arrive with plenty of time if you need to book a cycle. 🚉 Nearest Public transport: Putney Rail Station (30 secs) - frequent direct trains from Waterloo/Vauxhall etc. East Putney Underground on the District Line (5 min) & numerous buses to Putney High Street. 🚗 If coming by car then, you can park around the area for free on Sunday. 💳 You will need your credit/debit card to book a cycle (I can assist you with that if required). 💷 Cycle Hire Costs: please make sure you check the lastest costs as you may need to hire for around 6+ hours and it can be costly. 🌐 [TFL: What you pay](https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/santander-cycles/what-you-pay) *If you use/intend to use these hire bikes regularly, then it's worth looking at the yearly subscription option.* You can download the Santander Cycle Hire app (same link above) to view availability/pre-book your cycle (although there are numerous cycle stations in this area and plenty of bikes available at this time). ☕ Putney High Street: Plenty of food, coffee shops to pickup snacks & lunch if you need (ideally bring from home as we will want to leave on time) 🎒 What to bring: appropriate clothing/footware, water bottle, snacks/packed lunch and enthusiasm! 🚻 Available at Richmond & Richmond Park. 🧎 We can pray in the park at lunch time. **📋 Attendance Policy:** When an event has a **waiting list**, priority is given to new joiners and those with a reliable attendance record - *previous "No-Shows" may be moved to the waitlist to ensure spots go to reliable attendees [[why it matters](https://tinyurl.com/28sh83cn)]* ⛑️ **Disclaimer**: You are solely responsible for your own safety on these events and have the fitness level required for it. That you do not require special attention, medication or additional care. You are also responsible for your belonging at all times. 🌳 The route: Starting at Putney Bridge (home of the famous Oxford/Cambridge boat race start line), we will be cycling beside the river Thames (following it's twists and turns), passing many historical bridges, including Hammersmith Bridge, Cheswick Bridge, Kew Bridge, Twickenham Bridge, arriving at Richmond Bridge where we will take a short break and take in the views. We then take the steep incline towards Richmond Park, stopping along the way for another stunning view from Richmond Hill overlooking river Thames. We continue via the Richmond Park's Tamsin Trail until we reach Pembroke lodge (toilets are available here), where we will take another break. We then continue the trail around the park and head to the beautiful surrounding of the central pen pond where we will have a lunch break. If you're lucky you may even see some of the 600 deer residing in the park. Finally, we head back to Putney Station/Library to complete our journey Insha'Allah.
