Women Bike through Griffith Park

A wonderful bike ride through Griffith Park. We will meet at 8:00 a.m with a roll out time of 8:15. I will be wearing the Lidel Trek Kit that the Lidel Trek team wore in the Tour De France Femmes. We will leave the parking lot and head down Crystal Springs Drive past the Gene Autry museum located on our right. Crystal Springs Drive turns into Zoo Drive where we will pass travel town on our left. We will go up the hill using Griffith Park Drive and then down the hill, passing the golf Course on our left. For those that want a longer Ride, take a left at the stop sign and do the loop again. For others, turn right at the stop sign and head back to the parking lot.

Day Zero RIde

Day Zero Ride across the Golden Gate Bridge to take amazing pictures from the other side overlooking the bridge and the city. It's about a 14 mile round trip and we leave this early to avoid the tourist walking on the bridge. It is an exhilarating ride across the bridge with a short stop on the other side and then a short climb to get above the bridge for some amazing photo opportunities. Some of us will ride straight back afterwards and others will ride over to Sausalito for a scrumptious breakfast before coming back to the hotel. Gather in front of our HOST HOTEL the Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf at 7:15 AM for a safety talk and then ride out at 7:30 AM. NOTICE: this is not a sanctioned ride with the Arthritis Foundation. Let's go to the California Avocado Festival in Carpinteria by Train!

What could be more quintessentially California than a festival paying tribute to the Avocado, full of different guacamoles, and getting there on the Pacific Surfliner? This is the 40th year they've been having this festival. There is even Avocado ice cream! Entry to the Festival is free, and the booths are sponsored by local non-profits to raise money for their worthy causes. We've done this trip a couple of times, and it's always been fun. This unique festival is in Carpinteria, only a couple of blocks from the Carpinteria Amtrak station. It's one of the largest festivals in California, with three days of fabulous food and terrific music. [https://avofest.com/](https://avofest.com/) In case you didn't know, Santa Barbara County is the third largest avocado producer in North America, with Carpinteria being a major contributor. As the Festival has grown, so do the number of participants and festival-goers. In past years, over forty non-profit groups benefited by catering to 100,000 avocado visitors. The California Avocado Festival™ itself is a non-profit group that generates its own operating revenue each year. The annual event is completely organized by a committee of volunteers, and includes one part-time staff person. Our group will take the Amtrak Pacific Surfliner from Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles, to Carpinteria. We'll walk to the Festival from the Amtrak station, just a few blocks. RoadRunners group ride, L.A. (1st Saturday)

Our rides range from leisurely social outings to challenging, high-intensity adventures and we welcome guests on all our rides. The **Black Folk™ RoadRunners Bike Group** meet every 1st Saturday morning for rides of varying difficulty, starting from various locations in and around the Los Angeles area. We also administer and record Century Challenge rides, where cyclists can test themselves on 100-mile routes. Many of our rides take place on roads and trails less traveled and our calendar also contains special rides and events, highlighted by our signature ride, *The Black Tour*, in late February. This fully supported 24-hour event includes options for Double Century, Triple, and Quad rides. Throughout the year, we challenge cyclists with other featured rides, and our social events help us replenish the calories we burn while riding. Perfect Weather Hike in Griffith Park! ☀️🙋🏻‍♀️ 🙋 🙋🏽‍♂️

Come join the Perfect Weather Hike in Griffith Park every Saturday (location or route varies). Join us on this friendly social hike, with optional plank challenge at the helipad. Followed by optional breakfast/lunch at the Village Bakery and Cafe. Trail Is a roughly a 4.5 mile 10,000 step loop on mostly fire roads. Distance varies depending on trail variations. We’ll have views across the city to the Pacific Ocean, Griffith Observatory, downtown LA... Moderate hike on the main fire roads with Tiffany or option for advanced inclines with Gary. Route varies: Cadman trail to 5-Points, Beacon Hill, Helipad/Viewpoint, Glendale Peak, Cedar Grove, down Commonwealth and through neighborhood back to the cars. Steady incline approx 700ft elevation gain in the first hour - challenging for beginners but worth it! We’ll gather at each split in the trail to make sure all are accounted for. Dog friendly 🐕. Just remember there are coyotes in the park. Meet afterwards at Village Bakery and Cafe 3119 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039 Like all meetups, hike at your own risk. FRIDAY--Easy Night walk around Silverlake

Silverlake can be quite beautiful at night. Walk is mostly easy 2.2 miles RT around the lake. Walk is approx. 1 hour. There is short uphill on this walk--approx. 10 minutes Some members go to the local Oyster bar afterwards. **Rain will cancel walk. Dogs ok as long as on leash.** Parking: Street parking. There is more parking when you park along the lake --along W. Silverlake Dr.

Hike around Haunted Hayride

We will walk around the haunted hayride to check it out. Walk is easy walk less than 1 mile. We are NOT going on the rides or inside. We will walk on trail that goes around it. They usually charge for parking so tell them you are here for a hike and not a customer of the ride. We will meet in front of the merry go round. We will wait 15 or so minutes.
