**Escape from the blistering heat this Labor Day Weekend while disperse camping in Holcomb Valley, just a few miles north of Big Bear Lake. We’ll spend the entire weekend at about 8,000’ elevation, under relatively cool, pleasant conditions.** **Thank you, Kamil and Erika, for organizing this trip!!** **Once you set up camp you’re free to just chillax, go on a hike, or go search for gold, if your soul desires.** **We have room for just a few more vehicles that can join us.** **By signing up you represent one vehicle, the number of occupants in each vehicle doesn’t matter. Wednesday Griffith Park Night Hike - 3 Mile Junction Hike

Join us for this midweek get-away. I've done this hike a several times and it's a nice alternative to Beaudry. This MODERATELY-PACED hike will take about 2.5 to 3 hours and is about 5 1/2 miles. We walk up a fire road. Bring WATER, hiking shoes, hiking poles and an extra layer. Bring a head lamp. Arrive 10 to 15 earlier so we can leave on time. If you cannot make it, please update your RSVP. **How to get there:** Take the Los Feliz/Crystal Springs entrance to the park just off the I-5 freeway. Go North on Crystal Springs into the park. At the second stop sign you'll come to a four way intersection. The ranger station should be on your right. Make a left at that intersection, go up the road a little bit, and you'll be forced to turn right into merry-go-round lot #1. Just drive through lot #1 and down the road a little ways and you'll be in lot #2. We meet at the far end of parking lot 2. (That's the other end of where you drove in.) Please be aware that Assistant Organizers, Event Hosts, and support hikers are volunteers and organize hikes without compensation and assume absolutely no responsibility for you or your guests. FRIDAY--Easy Night walk around Silverlake

Silverlake can be quite beautiful at night. Walk is mostly easy 2.2 miles RT around the lake. Walk is approx. 1 hour. There is short uphill on this walk--approx. 10 minutes Some members go to the local Oyster bar afterwards. **Rain will cancel walk. Dogs ok as long as on leash.** Parking: Street parking. There is more parking when you park along the lake --along W. Silverlake Dr.

We will be doing a 6ish mile walk NOT to City Walk. . WE WILL INSTEAD CONQUER BARHAM BLVD. Don’t worry no walker left behind ( most of the time ). We will NOT do any stairs. We do our best to keep walk in 2ish hour range Comfortable shoes, water, flashlight and a good attitude are suggested items to bring. Westridge-Canyonback Loop hike Westridge-Canyonback Loop hike. 5 miles, 1100 feet elevation, 2.5 hours. Meet at Upper Canyonback Trailhead at 8:00 AM near the eastern firegate. Join us for a moderately paced hike in LA’s “Big Wild.” We’ll head down Upper Canyonback trail, which features sweeping canyon views to the west and downtown LA to east, until we reach Mandeville Canyon. We’ll turn and come back up by way of Westridge Trail, passing by the old Nike missile tower and its panoramic views. Bring 2 liters water, snacks, sunblock, sturdy footwear, hat. No dogs. Heat Advisories, Watches and Warnings and Rain cancel the hike. At the trailhead, participants will need to sign a participation waiver, which can be reviewed ahead of time.
