Bunker Hill Urban Hike-Pedways & Angels Flight

Please join us as we do an urban hike from Echo Park to the Bunker Hill section of DTLA! We will see Vista Hermosa Park, Angels Flight railway, the tallest building in LA- Library Tower, Bonaventure Hotel, World Trade Center, Central Library and Biltmore Hotel all while walking on the pedway system! We will also see a forgotten staircase that goes nowhere. There are some great photo ops on this hike. I posted some pics below. While we will take time for pictures, we can’t spend too much time in one place. About 6.5 miles There will be some staircases, Angels Flight and Bunker Hill stairs will be the longest. The LA dodgers will be losing a game at 1pm. So we should be ok since LA dodger fans are always late arriving. Meet at 1311 Bellevue Ave Los Angeles, CA 90026 Free parking in Bellevue. Meetup time 10am. We will start the hike at 10:05am. I have recently done this route on a Sunday the pedways were open. But, some access points to the pedways maybe locked, and we’ll find alternative ways.

FRIDAY--Easy Night walk around Silverlake

Silverlake can be quite beautiful at night. Walk is mostly easy 2.2 miles RT around the lake. Walk is approx. 1 hour. There is short uphill on this walk--approx. 10 minutes Some members go to the local Oyster bar afterwards. **Rain will cancel walk. Dogs ok as long as on leash.** Parking: Street parking. There is more parking when you park along the lake --along W. Silverlake Dr.

Perfect Weather Hike in Griffith Park! ☀️🙋🏻‍♀️ 🙋 🙋🏽‍♂️

Come join the Perfect Weather Hike in Griffith Park every Saturday (location or route varies). Join us on this friendly social hike, with optional plank challenge at the helipad. Followed by optional lunch at the Village Bakery and cafe. Trail Is a roughly a 4.5 mile 10,000 step loop on mostly fire roads. Distance varies depending on trail variations. We’ll have views across the city to the Pacific Ocean, Griffith Observatory, downtown LA... Moderate pace with Tiffany on the main fire roads or faster pace on advanced inclines with Marvin and Gary. Route varies: Cadman trail to 5-Points, Beacon Hill, Helipad, Glendale Peak, often Cedar Grove and back to the cars. Steady incline approx 700ft elevation gain in the first hour - challenging for beginners but worth it! We’ll gather at each split in the trail to make sure all are accounted for. Dog friendly 🐕. Just remember there are coyotes in the park. Rattlesnake season! 🐍 They like to sun on the trails. Do not approach and steer clear if any are on the path. Meet after at Village Bakery and Cafe 3119 Los Feliz Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90039 Like all meetups, hike at your own risk. You are responsible for your own well-being. Burbank/Chandler Bike Path: Pack Walk

**All breeds welcome! Please read entire description before you RSVP.** Following a warmup around Whitnall Highway Park, we'll walk the pedestrian lane on a section of the Chandler bike path. Expect to maintain tight proximity as we share the road with moderate traffic, including approaching runners, pedestrians, children, strollers, and other dog walkers. Other distractions will include passing fast-moving bikes, scooters, and skateboards in the adjacent bike lanes. **REQUIREMENTS:** Participants must submit a member form and participant release of liability each year. **[Click here to submit one](https://forms.gle/GzcftLq1MyLZpSG87)**. If you don't recall completing one this year, complete one now. **RULES:** ***First rule of our pack walks is to BE SAFE so that everyone has fun!*** All participants must comply to ALL guidelines below or will be asked to leave the event. 1. Participants limited. **RSVP is required to hold a spot.** As soon as you know you cannot attend, cancel your reservation. We understand last-minute changes take place; however, if you don't show up more than two times you will be placed on the wait list for future events. 2. If you feel even slightly ill (including a headache, sniffles, minor fever or even an allergy), do not attend this event. Stay home for your health and safety of others. We will do some mental exercises, so bring treats (or your dog’s dinner), or a toy for rewarding them. The path is well lit, but consider bringing lights as the end of our walk will hit twilight hours. **PACK WALK DISTANCE:** About 1.5 miles **TRAIL:** Mix of sidewalk, grass, and paved street. **DIFFICULTY:** Easy **DISTRACTION LEVEL:** Medium - High: There may be periods of high traffic where we will need to share the road with oncoming and passing users of the pedestrian lane. There will also be bikes, scooters, roller skaters, skateboards, etc. passing in close proximity at higher speed, in their own dedicated lane. For nearly all of the route, there is plenty of room to step off the paved path in case you need to create extra buffer space. **LARPBO PACK WALK GUIDELINES:** #1 All dogs must be on a secure collar and leash. Dogs using e-collars must also be on a leash. Prong collars should be backed up with a carabiner. Short leashes are recommended (less than 6 feet). Retractable leashes and harnesses are not allowed as they provide little control. #2 PLEASE NO NOSE TO NOSE CONTACT (dog to dog that is). Always maintain a six-foot distance between dogs. There should be no dog-on-dog interaction. #3 Please bring doggie poo bags. #4 Make sure you bring water for you and your dog. #5 One dog per handler. No exceptions! #6 Share the road. Move to the right to let others pass. *All breeds welcome. - There will be foot traffic, critters, and several other dogs. Trails Cafe Hike to the Griffith Park Observatory and Snack/Light Lunch at Top!

Greetings, Transition To Green Community! We will be returning to our much-beloved meeting spot at the Trails Cafe, and then enjoy a hike up to the Griffith Observatory, a hike our group has done many times before. Remember that all Transition To Green hikes are family-friendly (and for children above the age of eight). We have welcomed pleasant, cooler autumn weather since the end of October, with even a few light showers, and anticipate mild conditions for our November hike, with excellent outdoor conditions expected for our trek in beautiful Griffith Park. We will be meeting in front of the Trails Café on the second Sunday of the month. During the winter months - e.g. January, February, and March, we will meet at 10:00 a.m., and will hit the beautiful nearby trails no later than 10:15 a.m. At our halfway point, at the Griffith Observatory, we will stop for a snack or light early lunch at the Cafe at the End of the Universe, where we've enjoyed some healthful meals during recent hikes, with a newly expanded menu including veggie and vegan options (by request) also available. Please bring a reusable water bottle and wear hiking boots or tennis shoes with good treads on them for gripping the ground. Also, bring a hat or visor in case the Sun decides to beam down on us. Wear some SPF 30 on your skin, especially if you're light-complexioned. You may want to apply some sunblock on your nose to prevent burning there. **Transition To Green isn't liable for you in the city park - Griffith Park area, which includes the hiking trails.
