After-work bike ride: Südkreuz → Griebnitzsee (~25 km, one way)
Thu, Jul 9, 4:30 PMAfter-work bike ride from Südkreuz to Griebnitzsee - one way, S-Bahn back. Shake off the workday with a relaxed evening ride out of the city. We'll follow the Teltowkanal southwest, ride through the quiet paths of Düppeler Forest, and arrive at Griebnitzsee - a beautiful lake on the Berlin-Potsdam border with a historic lakeside promenade lined with old villas. Depending on timing we'll stop for a drink at the lake before catching the S-Bahn back together. The train ride back is a good chance to chat and wind down. Any bike type works. No special experience needed - just show up and enjoy the ride. • Start: S-Bahn Südkreuz • End: Griebnitzsee S-Bahn station (S7 back to Berlin) • Distance: \~25 km (one way) • Terrain: Flat to gently rolling, canal paths and forest tracks • Pace: The one you're comfortable with - we're here to relax after work, not to race • Recommended to bring: water, lights, S-Bahn ticket or BVG app for the return • Equipment: Up to you but you're responsible for your own safety. Food and drinks at the stop not included - pay your own. See you! 🚲

Bike ride + Spa #1 (Königs Wusterhausen → SATAMA Sauna Resort and Spa)
Sat, Jul 18, 7:00 AM# Königs Wusterhausen → SATAMA Route: Königs Wusterhausen → Bestensee → Storkow → Wendisch Rietz Distance: 38 km, mostly flat (70m elevation total) Mixed terrain. About 23 km asphalt, the rest gravel paths and forest tracks. Meeting point: Berlin Ostkreuz, RE7 direction Senftenberg, departure 09:02 Back in Berlin: \~21-22:00 We meet at Ostkreuz, take the RE7 to Königs Wusterhausen and start the ride from there. If the RE gets cancelled, then we will use S-Bahn with a connection in Grunau. The first section heads south through the Dahme-Seenland lake district. Flat terrain, a mix of bike paths and quiet forest/countryside roads. Near Bestensee, we pass the Großer Tonteich. If the weather holds, we can stop and swim. It's a small lake, not well-known, the kind of place you wouldn't find unless you were riding past it. From there, the route continues through pine forest and along the edge of farmland. In Storkow, we will stop for a lunch and to see the castle. We arrive at SATAMA on Scharmützelsee in the afternoon. The sauna park sits directly on the lake. In my opinion, it's one of the cosiest saunaparks in Brandenburg. Nine saunas, outdoor terraces, a pool, hammocks, and the direct access to the lake! We'll be there for several hours. At around 20-21 pm we board the RB36 train in Wendisch Rietz and change for RE7 in Königs Wusterhausen. Plan for arriving back in Berlin around 21-22:00. **Tickets** If you have the Deutschland-Ticket, you're fine and will only need the 24-hour bike ticker for VBB. Otherwise you'll need one Berlin ABC ticket, one VBB Gesamtnetz ticket and a 24-hour bicycle add-on for the VBB network (\~€7.50) **Bike** Trekking bikes and city bikes with wide tyres work. Road bikes, fixies, and rental bikes don't. **What to bring** * Water and snacks * Sauna towels, bathrobe, slippers (you can also rent it on-site) * Lights (front and rear, charged the night before) * Spare tube **SATAMA** Saunapark Entry is around €50 on weekends. It's a popular place, so book your ticket in advance at [satama-saunapark.de](https://www.satama-saunapark.de/). Each person books and pays individually. SATAMA is FKK. If that doesn't work for you, this isn't the right event.

Cycle & dine - Rathenow to Brandenburg
Sat, Jul 4, 7:44 AM**ATTENTION - This tour is postponed now to the 4 July due to the heat to be expected this Sat.** **But everything else stays the same.** ========== FACTS ========== ROUTE: Rathenow > Milow > Kirchmöser > Brandenburg/H LEVEL: Intermediate DISTANCE: 45ish kms MEETING POINT: 09:20 - Berlin Südkreuz ========== FACTS ========== ========= DETAILS ========= **ROUTE:** Starting in Rathenow we have a very flat tour ahead of us. The first stop is planned after some 10km at the [GastHof Milow](https://gasthof-milow.com/) which is known for serving very delicious fish. Just in case there might not be enough seats available we will head further to Plaue, passing the Plauer See and then have plenty of other opportunities to sit down, look across the water and enjoy some food and a drink… or two. The final route depends on mood and weather! After \~45km we will arrive the main train station in Brandenburg/H where we can hop into any RE1 coming. **SPEED:** Leisurely around 14 km/h, at least if the wind doesn't come from the front. This is like "Being able to see the details on the side of the road and enjoying the view in general… and have a chat." **DISTANCE AND TERRAIN:** This is an about 45ish km ride, with mainly solid but also some soft ground. In general: Bikes with thin tyres (Race bikes, Road bikes, Fixies), rented bikes (Uber, Swapfiets) or any special bikes (Folding bikes, BMX etc.) are not suitable! You won't have fun, trust me! And if you want to bring Kids or Animals please get in touch before! **MEETING POINT:** 09:20 - Berlin Südkreuz, at the NORTHERN ticket machine (facing the TV tower) on platform 6. I have a blue Villiger Trekking bike. But you can hop in at any other station if you want (and dare). **TICKET:** It is 23,60 both ways / person, so this time it does make much sense to organise a BBT. I will get one if at least one other person wants to join me! And don't forget your "[24-hour ticket bicycle VBB network](https://www.vbb.de/en/tickets/tickets-for-your-bicycle/24-hour-ticket-bicycle/)" ticket which is about 7,50 EUR. **WAY OUT:** 09:44 - dep. Berlin Südkreuz, platform 6, taking RE4 to Stendal Hbf 10:04 - arr. Rathenow, platform 1 **WAY BACK:** 17:04 - dep. Brandenburg/H, platform 3, RE1 to Frankfurt/Oder 17:38 - arr. Berlin Wannsee, (ME) switching trains to S2 18:01 - arr. Berlin Friedrichstrasse OR any other train at :04 or :44 **RECOMMENDATIONS:** Check the train schedule in the morning! The DB loves to stir up the plans by changing trains on short notice! If anything happens the Meeting point is the starting point of the cycling. While we'll stop somewhere for a lunch and/or coffee please always bring your snacks but especially some drinks along! And, PLEASE make sure your bike is in a proper state! Check your tyre pressure and oil the chain! Does your light work? Having a toolset is highly recommended and a spare inner tube to fix a flat tyre a big plus! While we might be able to help in some circumstances please think about what happens if we can't! Thank you! Bringing special equipment (Helmet, safety vest etc.) is NOT required but welcome if you feel more safe using it. And in case you need special medical treatment please make me aware of that upfront. Even if everyone is responsible for themselves I'd like to be able to handle it if necessary. ========= DETAILS =========
