Wildlife in Berlin?! Say What?! 🐘🐒 Lions, elephants, monkeys, bears, eagles, and all kinds of wildlife are all waiting to be discovered. You'll find them on buildings, fountains, carved into statues, painted or pasted onto walls, maybe even in real life. So get your camera, binoculars and join us! On the Berlin Safari tour. 📸🐱🦊 We'll be meeting in front of the TV tower, where we will split into two teams Each team will have 90 minutes to explore the streets and capture as many different animals as possible. We will find each other again near Monbijou Park, where we will evaluate our results, drink a beer or maybe just a Apfelschorle...... let the best team win! How does the scoring work? 🌱 🏆 For a domestic animal 🐈‍⬛ you get 3 points for an exotic animal 🦁 you get 6 points for a fantasy animal 🦄 10 points and if it's alive 💥 you × by 1,5 minus 10 💀 for any animal in captivation. I’ll be in the beautiful Treptower Park, and you’re warmly invited to join me for a calming yoga session by the water 🌿 No pressure, just come as you are. Let's enjoy some quiet and contemplative drawing time together and let's get to know each other better and share thoughts on creative process and more 🌿 IMPORTANT: This event is FREE, the required payment of 1€ is only to deter no-shows/overbookings. Eclipse happens

On August 12th a solar eclipse will occur and if the weather permits it will be visible from Berlin. It's a partial eclipse with about 85% of the sun being covered by the moon. In order to see it, a clear line of sight to the WNW horizon is required. Thus the pick of location has fallen to Drachenberg. 16:30 - go/no-go decision in case the sky is fully covered by clouds 18:15 - we meet at **S-Bahn Heerstraße** 18:30 - we start walking up the hill 19:15 - eclipse starts 20:08 - maximum cover of the sun 20:38 - sunset while still partially covered I'm bringing [protective glasses](https://www.teleskop-express.de/de/filter-254/sonnenfilter-fuer-weisslicht-61/baader-solar-viewer-astrosolar-brille-sichere-beobachtung-der-sonne-727) for up to 25 people at 6€ each. First come first serve, cash or PayPal. They can be shared as you're not supposed to use them continuously for more than 3 minutes. **Do not look at the sun directly, you risk to loose your eyesight!** Similarly, if you want to take pictures with a high magnification lens you risk grilling your sensor or the camera to catch on fire. A safe filter requires to have an optical density of 5.0 **What to bring?** * stable shoes * blanket or something to sit on * snacks and drinks * flashlight to get back safely in the dark. Remember, there will be no moon! 👜 **Look after your belongings** Please keep an eye on your belongings and prioritize your own safety throughout the event. Sip Happens cannot accept responsibility for lost items or personal incidents **What if it's cloudy?** We gather to watch a NASA or ESA live stream together. The location will be announced if we decide to stay indoors.

Müggelsee Vegan Hike

Fancy a summer hike and good vegan company? Join us for a summer hike along the southern shore of Müggelsee! We’ll follow forest trails along Müggelsee’s southern bank, pausing mid-route for a simple lakeside vegan lunch. Afterward, we’ll continue to the ferry (public transport—covered by the Deutschlandticket/BVG fare) across to Neu-Venedig (New Venice) before heading to Wilhelmshagen to catch the S3 back toward the city. * **Meeting point**: S-Bahn Friedrichshagen (meeting at the platform) * **End point**: S-Bahn Wilhelmshagen * **When**: Saturday 15 August, 11 am (please be on time) * **Route**: about 13 km, with a lunch stop by the lake * **Vegan-only event**: bring your own vegan lunch. Sharing is welcome but always optional * **Costs: €1** event fee (non-refundable) **€1 event fee (non-refundable)** The €1 fee helps cover Meetup and small costs; any extra is donated to animal rights NGOs.
