Hi all, us at NeuroSparks and our friends over at NeuroDisco are hosting another monthly board game event! Whether you're new to boardgames, or an experienced player, this could be a great way to meet like-minded people and have some fun too. **The venue:** Drop in at Gameology from 12PM onwards, there will be a wide range of board games for you to grab and play, but you can also bring a board game from home if you'd like. Gameology is also a games store, so feel free to browse what they have available or chat to the friendly staff for help or questions at any time. The board games room where we’ll be hanging out in is on the left as you enter the store. It also has a limited drink selection, however you’re free to bring food from outside to enjoy in between playing. The cafe across the road called Lux Foundry, or Ima Pantry around the corner are particularly good! But please be mindful of avoiding getting either the venue's or other attendee's games dirty. Each month Gameology collects donations for a different charity. Since they very kindly let us borrow their space, if you attend this event it would be appreciated if you could make a gold coin donation. While a donation is not compulsory, it is greatly appreciated in getting a little more community love and support. **Location:** There is very limited parking at the front of the store as well as in the surrounding area. However, the venue is close to public transport. The closest train station is Anstey station on the Upfield lane and the number 19 tram on Sydney road. There is also the number 508/509 bus line, with the closest stop being on the corner of Sydney road and Blyth street. The venue will also be closing at 5. Hike: Halloween 🎃 9.8 km Flying Fox Loop + Picnic

* Can't deal with big crowds at the city social Halloween celebrations? * Can't face trying to be cheery at the Halloween parties after a really shite week at work and need a nature fix? 🤔 * Not looking forward to pretending not to be home when trick or treaters knock on your door and the closest you have to a treat are 1 year old CLIF Bars 🧗 you got from the last Banff Film Fesitval? If any of the above resonate with you, then come celebrate Halloween with a walk around the Main Yarra Trail looping through Fairfield Boat House and visiting the Flying Fox colony along the Yarra River and finishing back where we started at Studley Park Boathouse. The circuit is 9.8km long over paved trail or easy dirt trails along the river. Once we get back to Studley Park Picnic area, we'll find a table and grab our picnic food from the cars and have snacks and drinks and wait for the flying foxes to take off overhead to complete our Halloween Evening. Fingers crossed for clear warm weather. I'll be aiming for a brisk pace (10 min/km, 6km/h) on the paved sections, and slowing during the scenic sections. I will adjust to suit the terrain, but be prepared to put in a bit of effort to work up an appetite so you can indulge in a treat at the end! Dressing up is optional. Wear something in theme if you have it. **What to bring:** * Sense of humour * Positive attitude * Adventurous spirit (AKA a tolerance for a lot of crap going wrong) * Picnic food for after the walk. Run/Walk: Run 5km OR Walk 3.5km + Coffee at Kanteen

Morning runs are back for Spring! **NOTE:** Meet at 9:25am for a 9:30am start. This will be part of a longer run for me, so I will start at 9:30am sharp - no waiting for this week so **please arrive before 9:30am** or catchup at Kanteen. Join in if you're free and want to kick start the day with an easy 5k run and a coffee. This is an easy 5km run where you can choose your own pace. The map above is the running trail. * Start at the Richmond Boulie Carpark on the Yarra Trail. * Run along the Northern bank of the Yarra river * **Cross over at Punt Rd** to the South bank of the Yarra river * Run along the South bank heading East until you reach Kanteen We finish at Kanteen for a coffee and/or a snack before slowly walking 1.8km back to the start. The meals at Kanteen are quite good and the nice outdoor area. My pace varies between 6:00 min/km to 6:30 min/km depending on how I'm feeling but there's no need to stay in a group. The trail is easy to follow and we all meet at the end so you can choose to go faster or take your time. If you're not a runner, you can choose to walk and start a few minutes early, cross over at Church Street which is \~3.5km walk and aim to arrive at Kanteen at around 30 minutes after the start - but **message** **me beforehand** to arrange so I don't wait for you at the start if you choose this option.
