During a 'day' phase players socialize openly and whisper privately to trade knowledge or spread lies, culminating in a player's execution if a majority suspects them of being Evil. At 'night' time, players close their eyes and some are woken one at a time by the Storyteller to gather information, spread mischief, or kill. A stunning 9 mile walk in the beautiful countryside, along country lanes and river surrounding Pulborough in Sussex ! Lets go with the flow ! We shall buy group return train tickets at 9.30am for the train at 10.05am that arrives at Pulborough at 11.22am. Train ticket : Return to Pulborough Or you may decide to drive. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc, waterproof jacket and walking shoes or trainers. You should have adequate insurance for this type of activity and be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour. We shall aim to take the train back to London from Pulborough at 4.55pm. We shall have coffee or a drink towards the end of the walk. Meetup fee £5 payable in cash or by bank transfer in advance. We're the All Good Bookshop writing group - we've been around for 10 years now. We offer writing feedback and discussion, whatever your level. Never been before? That's fine. Can only come once in a while? That's fine. Want to come regularly? That's fine. While we're predominantly narrative-based, any type of writing is welcome. Fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, novels, short-stories... bring it along and see if it fits. The cost is £5 to join us. Half of this goes to the bookshop and the other half goes towards snacks/drinks for everyone. Pay when you get there. (If you're having any financial problems, feel free to have a discreet chat with Chris about it). HOW IT WORKS First, we do introductions, which cover: 1 - Who you are 2 - What kind of thing you write 3 - What you're working on 4 - What you've done in the last two weeks. Then we find out who has stuff to read out (1,000 - 2,000 words), and who has questions/discussion points. If you'd prefer to do written hand-outs, you can as well. We then run through as many people as we can fit in, so they can read out or run through a discussion point. The group is run by Chris Brosnahan, an experienced writer and a long-running facilitator of writing groups. HOUSE RULES 1 - No egos. Everyone's stuff is up for criticism/feedback. 2 - Be constructive. We're not a review group - we're trying to help each other improve. 3\. No pressure\. You can turn up and just observe if you want \- you're not under pressure to read out or feed back\. 4 - We do our best to be a safe space. You don't know the backgrounds of everyone in the room. If you're going to read something that might be problematic or emotionally difficult, talk about it first - and if you're unsure, ask. 5 - We do our best to be a safe space. For particularly graphic scenes, please discuss in advance. A reminder that listening to erotica is, in itself, a sex act, and needs the enthusiastic consent of everyone involved. 6 - Content warnings apply. This doesn't just mean things like sex or violence. It also includes things like abuse, long-term illness, death - think of things that someone may find difficult if they're dealing with at the moment. We do our best to be a safe space. 7 - If you're struggling with anything being read, you can take a break without any justification or questions. 8 - Banned question: "Is this based on your own life?" - it doesn't add anything and can make discussion awkward. Please don't ask it. 9 - Let other people talk. You'll get your chance to feedback or ask questions, but it can be all too easy to talk over people. Join OverBoard to play the brilliant social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower in person at the brand new board game cafe Otter Chaos in Brixton. If you haven’t heard of Blood on the Clocktower before it is an evolution of classic party games like Mafia/Werewolf where a hidden evil team takes on the good team by lying and killing. The good team has a few tricks up their sleeve but will have to work together to deduce who the evil doers are in their midst. **This is a beginner friendly event so no experience with the game is necessary.** Please note that a gaming cover charge of \~£5 will be payable by each attendee to the venue so that we can make use of the space. We also encourage you to buy food and drink from the bar so we are supporting the business (I can highly recommend their pizzas!) **Rusty Instruments, Rustier Small Talk!** We are going to Europe's oldest surviving operating theatre! (Entry fee £9.00). The Old Operating Theatre, where surgery would be performed without anaesthetic by drunken barbers in front of an audience in the room the size of your autistic dad's garden shed. There's loads of weird and wonderful things to look at, you can even pretend to be a surgeon from the 1800s, but please, no amputations. It's cramped, creaky, and full of Victorian medical implements (like my love live). Afterwards, drinks nearby for anyone who wants to sit down and process their life choices (and have a few laughs and make new friends) **Will definitely happen:** At least one person reading every single plaque out loud to no one in particular A collective wince at the amputation saws Someone asking "wait, they did this awake?" more than once **Will probably not happen:** Anyone fainting (the Victorians did that enough for all of us) A hippy woowoo sharing circle (eugh!) Small talk that isn't immediately derailed by a jar of something unidentifiable Nearest tube and rail is London Bridge. This is a relativity new route from Osterley Park through to Hounslow. Discover a different side of West London on this scenic walk through historic parks, waterways, and grand estates. We begin at Boston Manor Station before heading to Elthorne Park, a peaceful retreat with tree-lined paths and open fields. Strolling along the Grand Union Canal, we’ll take in tranquil waters, colourful canal boats, and glimpses of local wildlife. Our journey continues to Osterley Park, a vast National Trust estate with sweeping meadows, ancient woodland, and the magnificent Osterley House, one of London’s best-preserved Georgian mansions. We’ll finish the walk at a lively pub near Hounslow Central Station, the perfect spot to unwind and socialise. **WALK START:** Boston Manor Station (Piccadilly Line) **WALK ROUTE:** This route takes us from Boston Manor through the green spaces of Elthorne Park before following the Grand Union Canal.
