WORLDS LONGEST RUNWAY (5.6 miles) (for charity)

Sun, Jun 28, 8:00 PM
From Worlds longest runway show for charity & peaceful protest

Ian Maynhart's "World's Longest Runway Show" is officially scheduled for June 28, 2026, at 4:00 PM ESTin New York City. This massive 5.6-mile demonstration is designed as a peaceful, public art protest moving in a straight line from The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) down to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (The Fed). Key Event Details * Date & Time: Sunday, June 28, 2026, starting promptly at 4:00 PM EST. * The Route: The runway spans over 5.6 miles, starting at The Met (1000 5th Ave) and continuing south to The Fed (33 Liberty St). * The Cause: The march serves as a peaceful, artistic statement against government policies. True to the brand's business model, 20% of all sales from Ian Maynhart's official store go directly to charity—specifically supporting the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Rules for Participants & Spectators Because this activation operates as a live, free piece of public art on active city streets, organizers have emphasized safety and compliance: * Stay on the Sidewalk: All models, team members, and supporters are instructed strictly to stay on the sidewalk to avoid disrupting public transit or local traffic. * Maintain Total Peace: The event is modeled entirely as a peaceful, law-abiding demonstration. * Respect the City: Participants must not block intersections or impede the movement of fellow New Yorkers.

Helping the homeless to get off the streets this winter

Sat, Jun 27, 11:00 PM
From NYC Non-Profit Meetup (nonprofit volunteers)
4.8

Hello all, https://bowery.volunteerhub.com/vv2/ I was extremely saddened by this weekend's brutal killing of 4 homeless people in lower manhattan. I have contacted the Bowery mission to help and see what we can do as a community to provide food and shelter for the homeless. This is an endless effort. I encourage you all to helpout whenever, and whatever you have to get them off the streets, and to clean up the shelter and talk to the government to get programs incentives to allow landlords to use up their vacant space, even if its a few months for the winter. Many of you do not know that homeless people choose to be outside, because they don't feel safe in shelters. Or because of their illness that they do not want contact with people or helping themselves. Bowery mission helps manhattan folks - with shelter/ food/ clothing. Please help 1 at a time. IF you have other resourses to share or events to share, Please POST! Thanks all. Lisa, Thank you for reaching out. We were also stunned and heartbroken by this horrific attack. I truly admire the work that you do—I think the events of this weekend present a call for all of NYC’s nonprofits that deal with homelessness and its tangential issues to work together and form a unified front, so I am grateful for your interest and passion. I encourage you to check out our volunteer site and please reach out with any questions or if this is not what you are looking for. If you are looking for something more specific, I’m happy to jump on a call. Let me know what makes the most sense. Thank you—hope you had a nice weekend.
