Let's go square dancing in North Hollywood! ($20-25) \- Live Band: Gas Station Sushi \- Caller: James Hutson Never square danced? Don't worry... all dances are taught. Fun guaranteed! No partner necessary, this is social dancing :) Everyone willing to participate is welcome! Bring your friends -- the more the square-ier! Straight and LGBTQIA+ friendly. We'll meet up inside by the "The Mayflower Club" wall mural (see photos below) at 7pm. SCHEDULE: 7:00pm - doors + band + socializing 7:15ish - beginner lesson + socializing 7:30ish - dancing DIRECTIONS: Punch "Mayflower Club" into maps and it should get there easy. 11110 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606 PARKING: There is free parking behind the club. Street parking on Victory Blvd should also be free after 7pm, but double-check posted signs. MEETING UP: We'll meet up by the wall mural of the Mayflower. We will meet there as a group from 7:00-7:10pm. If you're late and miss the group meet, ask the people at the check-in table to point you to Lindsey, and we'll introduce you to the rest of the group. DRINKS/FOOD INFO: You may bring your own food and refillable water bottle. No outside alcohol or other bottled drinks allowed. Bar onsite. COST: $20 advance discount (until Jul 10th) via Venmo to @LASquares $25 on Jul 11th or at the door WHAT TO BRING: • Comfortable shoes • Water bottle • Venmo receipt on your phone for the dance Tips for the LADIES: * Dresses are fun for twirling, but pants are cool too :) * It's best to wear shoes that are comfortable, not too grippy and won't easily slip off (I usually wear my converse or flats w/ a strap) * Dress in layers, you will get warm * It's ok (even encouraged) to ask guys to dance :) * Ladies are always right, so ladies are always on the right when dancing (though you are no way limited to dancing the "lady" role--anyone can dance any role) Hope you'll join us!
