Bake Stuff with Lindsay - Live Baking/Comedy Show + Dessert
Sat, Sep 19, 2:30 AMlive baking + audience chaos + special guests + questionable decisions ### **Bake Stuff with Lindsay** The most unhinged baking show you’ve never seen. Bake Stuff with Lindsay is a live, audience-immersive baking experience where chaos is encouraged and we actually eat the results. It’s a fever dream for anyone who’s ever wished TV bakers would loosen up, get messier, and curse a little (a lot) more. Along the way, we attempt to answer important questions like: Do feelings matter more than the recipe? and Does the 5 second rule count with liquids too? **What to expect:** *• Live baking (in real time, with real stakes)* *• Audience involvement throughout the show (games, prizes, FUN)* *• \*SPECIAL GUESTS\*, commentary, and mild spiraling* *• Questionable decisions, emotional detours, and laughter* *• Dessert served (assuming nothing is completely destroyed)* **Theme: F\*cking Apples (All Apple Everything!)** Featuring: Kyle Ayers (Sous Chef) and a panel of special guests! * **\*\*You must buy your ticket through the Eventbrite page [HERE](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bake-stuff-with-lindsay-live-bakingcomedy-show-dessert-tickets-1999178742435) \*\***

AI, Art & Vibecoding - StrangeNew.World @ 310 Coffee
Fri, Sep 11, 10:00 PMWe frame ourselves as **"a support group for the technological singularity"** and we are an eclectic mix of open-minded thinkers, artists, and tinkerers who believe in embracing the emerging technologies and capabilities in the most humanitarian way possible. Our meetings have a super casual and open atmosphere where all are welcome to contribute. Feel free to come late or leave early. So whether you're an AI enthusiast or skeptic, a creative professional already using AI on the daily, or someone just starting their first vibe coding project, this group may be for you! **NOW NEW & IMPROVED (Until the end of summer!)** We are doing "Hack-a-salons" after every meeting (starting at 5pm) now that 310 Coffee is staying open later. So please bring your laptops or art projects, or works in progress that you have questions on or want to present to the group. No podiums... only passion projects, good people and great vibes! ☺️ **What to Expect** Interesting conversations, relevant content, and educational resources. We are a diverse community of people who want to help each other and the world around us. We meet in person once a week at **310 Coffee in Culver City from 3-5pm**, we share our work and interesting news in our Whatsapp group, put on remote Learning Labs, go to events together, and encourage our members (who have the availability) to participate in a learning collective where we can volunteer to give each other one-on-one crash courses in various artistic, technical, and entrepreneurial disciplines. Here is a list of what we can teach: [https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know](https://strangenew.world/labs/what-we-know) We also encourage each of our members to take on a Passion Project, which could be as simple as getting up and running with a new artistic medium or project, or as complex as laying the groundwork for your dream business or career. We believe there has never been a better time (at least in OUR lifetimes) to set your sights on what your ideal life would be two years from now and then just start moving toward it. And maybe we can help you do that by giving you the hand-holding you need to get over that first hump, which can sometimes be the most difficult part. **How to Give Back** If you are a member looking to give back, or if you like what our organization is doing, then please follow, subscribe, rate us, and smash that like! 🤣 I know it seems silly to many of you, but in the attention economy, just the act of following us, liking our posts, and reviewing our events can make a huge difference in how the algorithm shines upon us. Also, if you would like to support us in a more direct way, please consider giving us a one-time donation, subscribing to one of our tiers, or sponsoring us. We pay for a lot of stuff out of pocket, so please consider becoming a patron to support the overall longevity of our group and vision. [https://strangenew.world/support-us](https://strangenew.world/support-us) **More Information** What we explore during our meetings really depends on who shows up and what they want to discuss: * The changing job market. What skills will matter in 10 years * The future of business and the creative industries * Chatbots, LLMs, and Agentic Workflows * Using AI for scientific or artistic exploration * Will generative art destroy Hollywood or save it? * What is consciousness? What constitutes intelligence? * The various types/platforms of vibecoding and which is best for your project * The end of capitalism as we know it * Are we entering the 2nd Cognitive Revolution? **Learn more at: [https://strangenew.world](https://strangenew.world)**

🌕 Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Dinner @ Newport Seafood — San Gabriel
Sat, Sep 26, 1:45 AMJoin me for a special **Mid-Autumn Festival Food Celebration** **Dinner** at **Newport Seafood Restaurant in San Gabriel!** 🥮🌕🍽️ Let's celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with great food, good conversation, and a fun evening with a small group of fellow Meetup members. 📍 Newport Seafood Restaurant 518 W Las Tunas Dr San Gabriel, CA 91776 💰 Cost: $60 per person 👥 Limited to 12 people total 🦞 What's for Dinner? We'll be ordering a variety of popular Chinese seafood and dinner dishes to share, including: 🦞 Lobster 🐟 Live steamed fish 🍤 Walnut shrimp 🥩 Filet mignon cubes 🥢 And more! We'll plan and budget the food order so that there is approximately $60 worth of food per person, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy a variety of dishes family-style. 🍽️ Family-Style Dinner This will be a shared family-style meal, so we'll order multiple dishes for the table rather than having individual entrees. The goal is to have a great variety of food for everyone to sample and enjoy. Because we're limiting the group to 12 people, please RSVP only if you are committed to attending. This will allow us to plan the food order and make sure we have enough for everyone. 🌕 Why Mid-Autumn Festival? The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is one of the most important traditional celebrations in Chinese culture. It is traditionally a time for family, friends, reunion, gratitude, and enjoying good food together under the full moon. What better way to celebrate than gathering around a table and sharing a delicious Chinese feast? 🥮🌕🥢 Come hungry, bring your appetite, and let's enjoy a festive evening together! 🎟️ 12 spots only — $60 per person Please RSVP only if you are able to attend. 9/13 Secular Latinos SGV meetup
Sun, Sep 13, 8:00 PMHey all, I am still moving to the CA Central Valley, but will be in the SGV this Sunday! Come by and say hello, IN PERSON. Next meetup will likely be on Zoom until Atheists United finds a new organizer. We are meeting at the Alhambra library at 1 p.m. Underground parking is available, and two elevators will take you up to the main floor. Street parking is also available. Come a little early and check out the Alhambra farmers' market on 2nd Street. The farmers' market starts packing up around 12:30 p.m. I’ll be wearing my black Atheist United t-shirt. Find me. Hope to see you there! *** ¡Hola! Everyone. This meetup is scheduled for every second Sunday (of the month) at 10 am unless otherwise posted. It's scheduled for two hours to allow people to come and go as they wish. This event aims to introduce the Secular Latino community in the SGV. If you are a Secular Latino who has not connected with other Secular Latinos in the SGV, this is your opportunity! You are not alone; meet others like you. RSVP is not required but encouraged. This meetup will respect family dynamics and your privacy. Photographs of you will not be taken and posted in this group without your consent. We are looking forward to meeting you! Best, Arlene
