We begin with gentle stretching and some preparatory exercises, then we will work in detail on the first movement of the form. We practice partner exercises, which are an essential part of our school : if you wish to avoid contact with your partner, please let me know at the beginning of class. We finish the class with Qigong, the posture for regaining calm. Adult Drama Classes
Thu, Sep 17, 6:00 PMScript Reading, Improvisation, Voice Projection, Games, Public Speaking and audition techniques will be some of the points covered over the coming terms. Drama is ideal for building confidence, helping with articulation and developing presentation skills. It is also a lot of fun! The classes have built up over the last five years and are run by Mario Renzullo, who was an original member of the famed Anna Scher Theatre and made his professional debut in 1970, and went on to have many lead TV, film and theatre roles. Mario founded the theatrical agency Smart Management, which has been running for over twenty years. The classes are open to a wide age range and welcome those new to acting as well as those with professional acting experience. Typically, between 12 and 20 people join us each week, creating a lively and engaging group dynamic. Venue: The Angel Church, Chadwell Street EC1R 1XA Five minutes’ walk from the Angel tube station. Many actors rush to performance — but skipping scene analysis and proper character work can mean missing the heart of a scene. In this session, we will explore the essential (and often overlooked) step of breaking down a scene, then getting on your feet and going through a series of exercises. You will then apply what you've learned - bringing the scene to life through performance which can be taped on the phone in class. A scene will be sent a day in advance. Through practical tools, and guided exercises, we’ll help you uncover what drives each character, different ways to deliver the scene and how thoughtful analysis leads to truthful, compelling choices. Whether you’re an actor, writer, or director, this workshop will give you a deeper understanding of story, sharpen your interpretive skills, and elevate your creative work.

Saturday Acting Workshop is Back - HAMLET!!
Sat, Sep 12, 2:00 PMWe will be working towards a FULL PERFORMANCE of Shakespeare's greatest tragesy to be preformed at Network Theatre, Waterloo in October 2026. This classical acting workshop on *Hamlet* offers performers an immersive exploration of Shakespeare’s language, character psychology, and dramatic storytelling. Participants will engage with key scenes and soliloquies, developing skills in voice, movement, text analysis, and emotional truth. Through guided exercises, ensemble work, and close examination of the play’s themes of ambition, grief, morality, and revenge, actors will deepen their understanding of classical performance techniques. The workshop encourages confidence in handling heightened language while fostering creativity and authenticity. Suitable for both emerging and experienced actors, it provides practical tools for bringing Shakespeare’s complex characters vividly to life.
