This is our monthly meetup, now at **Nordic Bar**, near Oxford St (25 Newman St, London W1T 1PN). The meetup is for Japanese/English language exchange, networking, and for those with a genuine interest in Japanese culture. There is also a good music community at the events. We'll be downstairs at the back. We advertise on other sites including Japanese ones so it's usually a really good crowd. Please note to cover running costs (approx £400 per year now) there is a voluntary £1 entry charge which can be paid via PayPal or to the organiser on the day. Indiemeet's Monthly Meetup

Everyone who's brought a game to run gives a short pitch: they say what it's like, how many players it can take and whether it has a GM or not. Then we allocate people to games and play them. We love people who pitch games, so please do come with something you'd like to run. If you'd like to pitch a game, you'll need to include: number of players, type of game (GMed or GM-less), and a brief blurb of the game. If it's your first time at Indiemeet, we'll ask what you want to play and try to make sure it runs! 🇯🇵🍜 JAPAN MATSURI SOCIAL MEET-UP 🇯🇵

Fancy spending Sunday surrounded by Japanese food, music, dance, culture and good company? 🎌✨ I’m organising a social meet-up at Japan Matsuri in Trafalgar Square on Sunday 4 October. We’ll meet up, explore the festival together, grab some Japanese food, watch the performances and generally have a fun day in London. 🍜🍣🎶 The festival itself is FREE, so there is no ticket to buy. Location: Trafalgar Square, London Limited spaces for the social group Small deposit to secure your place I’m asking for a small deposit of £5reserve your place in the group. This isn’t an entry fee for the festival - it’s simply to make sure that people who say they’re coming are genuinely committed to turning up. I’ve found that having a small commitment helps avoid people joining a group, disappearing at the last minute or turning up with unexpected guests. 😅

The first meeting for our new book club Pints & Prejudice! This month, we are reading the Booker Prize winner Flesh by David Szalay. Bring yourself and your thoughts on the book, ready for a relaxed evening of literary chitchat over a couple of drinks.

AnimanJapan Anime & Manga Club!

If you love anime & manga then please join us for our weekly meetups, where we basically just sit, chat and read anime & manga! We usually sit in the back of the pub. If the weather is nice we may sit outside at the back of the pub, or even outside on the downstairs floor. In this meetup, you can BYOM (bring your own manga) or read one from the selection we will bring. See this as an opportunity to discover, recommend or simply enjoy Japanese comics & anime with like-minded people! Note: This is not a book club. Also, the TCR bar is kind enough to allow us to use their space to host this meetup, and has asked if possible for attendees to support the venue by purchasing a drink or food while you're there. Please don't bring your own food or drink to consume at the venue, as the venue does not allow this!

AniManJa Board Games Club!

We have a variety of games to play as well as the usual titles and favourites like Secret Hitler, Exploding Kittens and Uno so come on down if this sounds like fun to you! The games will be easy to understand as well, so don't worry about your level of board game experience! And remember to BYOBG (bring your own board games) if you have any that you would like to share :) We will meet inside TCR Bar for around 1pm. We will be seated in the boths at the back of the bar. Creative Coffee & Mingle ☕️ | Help Shape Our New Look

With our Korean and Japanese culture groups now paired, we need your help with something important - our new look! Come along for an afternoon of coffee, creativity and conversation as we brainstorm ideas for our Korean and Japanese groups’ new logos. We’re creating new logos for both groups, and rather than designing them behind the scenes, we’d love our members to have a say in what they look like. Join us for a relaxed **creative brainstorming session and coffee mingle**, where we’ll explore ideas for the new logos for both groups. Over coffee and light refreshments, we’ll look at colours, styles, symbols and different design directions, and chat about what we think best represents each community. **You don’t need any design experience at all.** The session will be facilitated so you will be guided through sharing your ideas, opinions and creativity. Whether you have a very clear vision or simply know what you like when you see it, we’d love your input. By the end of the session, we hope to have a clearer creative direction that we can use to develop our new logos. **Location** The event will take place in **Canada Water, SE16**. *The full address will be shared with confirmed attendees a few days before the event.* As this is a smaller, hosted session, **places will be limited**, so please only RSVP if you’re planning to attend. **Seating** Please note that this is a small, informal gathering and seating will be a mixture of chairs and floor seating with cushions. This weekend we'll be at JAPAN MATSURI, the UK’s much-loved and biggest annual festival of Japanese culture and food,will return to Trafalgar Square on Sunday 4 October, from 10am to 8pm. **FREE OF CHARGE** Showcasing Japanese culture in the UK, Japan Matsuri has attracted a loyal audience of Londoners, the Japanese community and other visitors, families and friends each year since 2009 (at Spitalfields in 2009 & 2010, at County Hall in 2011, and at Trafalgar Square since 2012) and has established itself as a symbol of the long-standing bonds (Kizuna 絆) between Japan and the UK.

Holland Park Kyoto Garden Walk & Japan House

​Let's make the most of the beautiful autumn colours, and go for a walk in Holland Park's Kyoto Garden! 🍁 美しい紅葉の季節を最大限に楽しむために、ホランド・パーク内にある京都庭園へ散歩に行きましょう！ ​We'll meet at Pret a Manger, near Holland Park Station. I'll be there from 2:00 PM, and we'll wait for everyone to arrive. 集合場所はホランド・パーク駅近くのPret a Mangerです。私は午後2時から待っていますので、皆さんが揃うのを待ちましょう。 ​Feel free to grab a drink and join us as we chat and get to know each other before we begin our walk. 散歩を始める前に、ぜひ飲み物を買っておしゃべりをしながらお互いに交流しましょう。 ​At around 2:20 we'll start heading to the park.
