This is our monthly meetup, now at **Nordic Bar**, near Oxford St (25 Newman St, London W1T 1PN). The meetup is for Japanese/English language exchange, networking, and for those with a genuine interest in Japanese culture. There is also a good music community at the events. We'll be downstairs at the back. We advertise on other sites including Japanese ones so it's usually a really good crowd. Please note to cover running costs (approx £400 per year now) there is a voluntary £1 entry charge which can be paid via PayPal or to the organiser on the day. The event runs the second Tuesday of each month. Indiemeet's Monthly Meetup

Indiemeet's Monthly Meetup

Sun, Sep 20, 12:30 PM
From London Indie RPG Meetup Group
4.8

Help support the group with a tip: [https://ko-fi.com/indierpg](https://ko-fi.com/indierpg)! This is Indiemeet's monthly meetup. Come along for 13:30 and meet folk. At 14:00 we start pitching games. Everyone who's brought a game to run gives a short pitch: they say what it's like, how many players it can take and whether it has a GM or not. Then we allocate people to games and play them. We love people who pitch games, so please do come with something you'd like to run. If you'd like to pitch a game, you'll need to include: number of players, type of game (GMed or GM-less), and a brief blurb of the game. If it's your first time at Indiemeet, we'll ask what you want to play and try to make sure it runs! We believe that gaming is for all: Indiemeet believes in providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. We believe that gaming is for everyone, regardless of who you are or your level of experience. Eltham SFF Book Club: All Systems Red (Murderbot) by Martha Wells

Eltham SFF Book Club: All Systems Red (Murderbot) by Martha Wells

Tue, Oct 6, 6:00 PM
From Eltham Science fiction and Fantasy book club

A murderous android discovers itself in *All Systems Red*, a tense science fiction adventure by Martha Wells that interrogates the roots of consciousness through Artificial Intelligence. “As a heartless killing machine, I was a complete failure.” In a corporate-dominated spacefaring future, planetary missions must be approved and supplied by the Company. Exploratory teams are accompanied by Company-supplied security androids, for their own safety. But in a society where contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder, safety isn’t a primary concern. On a distant planet, a team of scientists are conducting surface tests, shadowed by their Company-supplied ‘droid—a self-aware SecUnit that has hacked its own governor module, and refers to itself (though never out loud) as “Murderbot.” Scornful of humans, all it really wants is to be left alone long enough to figure out who it is. But when a neighboring mission goes dark, it's up to the scientists and their Murderbot to get to the truth.

AnimanJapan Anime & Manga Club!

AnimanJapan Anime & Manga Club!

Sun, Sep 20, 12:30 PM
From AniManJapan (Anime, Manga and Japanese Culture)
4.7

If you love anime & manga then please join us for our weekly meetups, where we basically just sit, chat and read anime & manga! We usually sit in the back of the pub. If the weather is nice we may sit outside at the back of the pub, or even outside on the downstairs floor. In this meetup, you can BYOM (bring your own manga) or read one from the selection we will bring. See this as an opportunity to discover, recommend or simply enjoy Japanese comics & anime with like-minded people! Note: This is not a book club. Also, the TCR bar is kind enough to allow us to use their space to host this meetup, and has asked if possible for attendees to support the venue by purchasing a drink or food while you're there. Please don't bring your own food or drink to consume at the venue, as the venue does not allow this!
