**🏛️ WHAT'S PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY ABOUT?** Practical Philosophy is a weekly meet-up that brings critical thinkers together for an opportunity to dive deep on a topic, practice communicating, and building a community. All with no ‘official’ philosophy knowledge required! 😎 Practical Philosophy is based on the idea that philosophy should be accessible to all, and not something reserved only for academics. Each week we choose a topic, and the goal is to use the conversation to develop our critical thinking and communication as we explore that topic. The goal is to help develop our Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community 🙌 📓 **HOW DOES IT WORK?** Each week, we pick one topic and discuss it. The topic for the week is shared, generally in the [Whatsapp group](https://tally.so/r/EkNAll), along with jump-off points to get the conversation going. If the group gets bigger than 10-12 people, we will break into smaller groups. This way we are able to maintain a conversational flow and ensure everyone has a chance to participate. **General Meeting Agenda** Each Practical Philosophy begins at 7:00p and follows this general timeline: * 7:00-7:15 - People arrive and chat, get to know each other before the ‘official' start. * 7:15-7:25 - Break into groups and do intros; explanation of Practical Philosophy and the topic for the week, review the discussion guidelines so attendees know what to expect. * 7:25-8:30 - Main discussion on the selected topic - allow the conversation to evolve organically and/or use the ‘jump-off’ questions as prompts to guide the conversation. It’s not obligatory to answer them. * 8:39-9:00 - Groups come back together and share thoughts informally. * 9:00 - The official meeting is over but it’s a great opportunity to get to know people in a non-structured environment, so we often stick around, chat, and get to know each other. **🧧PRICING?** Practical Philosophy Club is FREE to attend! To support our venue, we ask that you buy a beverage/snack. Some chapters rent a space for us to meet, and they may ask for donations to help contribute to the cost. We will meet at Verdugo Bar on Monday, November 9th at 7:30 pm. This is an informal hang to chat about our games (recently released or in progress), and meet other indie developers, composers, artists, etc... Note that this event usually happens the 1st or 2nd Monday of the month. If anyone is interesting in hosting in event, let me know. Anyone involved in indie games is invited to hang out - developers, composers, programmers, artists, writers, game fans, etc... You are welcome to bring your games in progress to show, as long as you don't mind the very casual environment and the spotty Wifi. Sorry, since this meetup is at a bar, this event is 21+ only. We hope to see you there!👋 Akari ------------------------------------------ 皆さんこんにちは☺️ オーガナイザーのあかりです🇯🇵 今週もミートアップを開催します♪ ぜひお気軽にご参加ください✨ ◼︎ スケジュール 📅 毎週土曜日 🕤 朝9:00〜11:00 📍 Awaken Cafe 3838 S Centinela Ave Los Angeles, CA 90066 ◼︎パーキングに関して🅿️ 無料駐車場があります‼︎カフェの道を挟んで左右の隣りどちらも駐車場です。一般開放されている駐車場のため支払い用のQRコードがありますが、カフェ利用者は無料で停めて良いとの事です。カフェの店員さんがカメラで確認できるそうです◎何かあればお気軽にご連絡ください。 ◼︎参加人数 通常初参加の方も数名含め約40名前後の方が参加されます✨ミートアップの会場はカフェ左手奥にある、4つの大きな木製テーブルがあるお部屋です。好きな場所に座ってどなたとでも気軽にお話しください！土曜日の朝に少し早起きしてコーヒーを片手に良い朝を過ごす素敵なメンバーばかりです☕️🫖主催者が最初と最後に簡単な挨拶をしますがあとは自由でカジュアルな雰囲気です。 ミートアップは通常、午前9時から11時まで開催していますが、ご都合に合わせていつ来ても、いつ帰っても大丈夫です。土曜日の朝を、楽しくのんびり一緒に過ごしましょう！皆さんにお会いできるのを楽しみにしています。 ◼︎こんな方におすすめ！ ✨ 英語/日本語を勉強している方 ✨ 日本語の文化に興味がある方 ✨ 日本へ旅行を考えている方 ✨ アメリカへ旅行中/留学中/ 駐在中/移住した方 ※日英語学レベルは問いません◎ 🌏 Our mission 私たちは、英語と日本語の両方で気軽に会話を楽しみながら、安心して交流できるコミュニティを作りたいと考えています。新しい友達を作ったり語学を練習したりする良い機会としてぜひ気軽に足を運んでください！ ※ナンパや異性との交際目的の方はお断りしております🙏 初心者からアドバンスレベルまで全てのレベルの方を歓迎しています。日本語/英語に自信がなくても安心してご参加ください☺️勉強したいといいあ気持ちがある方全力で応援します✨ 皆さんにお会いできることを楽しみにしています👋 あかり
