Workshop: Looking Again Discovering Hidden Images with artist Nikolaus Rauch

Inspired by the exhibition M-irror & W-Alls, participants are invited to explore how we perceive images, surfaces, and visual traces. Using selected details from Nikolaus Rauch’s artworks, we will experiment with observation, interpretation, drawing, and color. The workshop is not about artistic skill but about discovering how people see different things in the same image. Together we will create small visual responses, share observations, and discuss how meaning emerges through perception. 🎨 🎶 **Forever Grateful -- Haight Street Art Center (& Lunch Before)** 🔆 "Forever Grateful" traces the Grateful Dead's history from the band's 1965 founding in Palo Alto through 1995. Known for their eclectic style, the Dead blended rock, folk, blues, country and psychedelia, creating tunes that became a cornerstone of the San Francisco Sound. Their music was defined by long improvisational jams and a deep connection with their fans. Curated by Ben Marks, this Haight Street Art Center show contains more than 400 items, including paintings, pen and ink drawings, original lithographs used to create posters, photographs, vinyl records, instruments and rare memorabilia. The exhibition features the poster artists who shaped the band's visual identity, among them San Francisco's "Big Five" rock-poster designers Wes Wilson, Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley, Victor Moscoso, and Rick Griffin.
