Charcoal Drawing Classes Meet in Art Studio in SF

Thank you for visiting our group - Charcoal Drawing Class! We meet on Saturdays, 5:00-7:00pm, in my art studio located in San Francisco. All are welcome, whether you are a total beginner who want to explore, learn, or just have fun... or a more experienced artist who might want to freshen your techniques, pick up where you left off a while ago, or just enjoy the experience of drawing in a group setting and share the joy of creating art. My art studio is a place for kids M-F after school and we have day camps during school holidays. We have been in business since 2019. I have decided to include adult art classes on Saturdays and Sundays, and now we have oil painting classes 2-4:30pm, and drawing classes 5-7pm. On Sundays are have soft pastels drawing classes. We will draw still life. If there's a request for a live model, please let me know! It's a wonderful place for everyone to get together safely to have fun, learn, and bring home a beautiful piece of artwork that you have created! In-Person Soft Pastels Drawing Class in Art Studio in SF

Developing the ability to work with layers\. 4\. Increase students' ability to perceive and match values\. OVERVIEW Our art teacher will offer a demonstration, guiding students step-by-step, from start to finish. You will create a simple landscape pastel drawing to take home at the end of class. No drawing experience is necessary since the course is for beginners, and we will provide all the materials. SPECIFICATIONS In this course, the student will draw with soft pastels from a selected photo reference, using a light mid-tone paper surface, and blending tools. The mid-tone surface allows the student to add value when making the colors darker and subtract value when making them lighter. Working in both directions will add a natural and realistic character to the drawing. The student will start with a simple sketch, using lines to create a basic shape while considering the proportions. Then the student will find and apply the values to the drawing using analogous soft pastel colors, creating areas of colors indicating light and shadow. The student will be using blending tools to create a color gradient while working on layering the soft pastel colors. Lastly, we will create a shadow for the object in the background and use lighter colors to reveal the illumination source.

Blue Heron Lake - Golden Gate Park

Renamed famed lake in the middle of GG Park has some interesting subjects. Lake, wildfowl, trees, boats, waterfall, rock bridge, people watching. Gorgeous settings, even in fog. **Parking** lot is small and on street parking isn't the easiest, so **COME EARLY.** **Restrooms available.** **NO LUNCH PLANS**

Acrylic Painting Class

This acrylic painting class is guided by your art teacher step by step, with instructions from beginning to end. She will emphasize landscape composition, light and shadow, and depth concepts, such as background, middle ground, and foreground. You will learn how to blend and how to use different techniques to show texture. You will create a landscape painting, from drawing, to mixing colors, and expressing your unique style. Lincoln Park Steps

Tucked away on the edge of Land's End are the beautiful Lincoln Park steps. The steps were re-done in 2007 and designed by local artist Aileen Barr. They are found at the end of a small side-street of an apartment complex, and lead up to the beginning of the park and golf course.

Cafe sketching at HI NRG in the Inner Richmond (SF) 📍 **12:00 pm**. Meet inside. Look for folks with sketchbooks. 🎨 Roam freely. Sketch what you see. ☕ Pull up a chair anytime to draw with us and talk art. 📓 **1:30 pm**. Meet upstairs. We wrap things up with show & tell throwdown. This is organized by the **[Cafe Art Circle](https://www.zenbay.org/cafe_art_circle)** meetup under SF Sketchers. We explore coffee and tea shops around the Bay Area, using sketching as a way to experience the atmosphere of each place and its neighborhood. HI NRG is one of SF's newest specialty coffee spots and personal favorite of Dmitry. Founded by Bay Area baristas Luis and Nathan, it began as a daytime pop-up inside High Treason, a neighborhood wine bar on Clement Street. Inspired by a shared love of exceptional coffee and music they've created an incredibly welcoming relaxed space. They feature a rotating selection of coffees. All skill levels welcome.
