Together, we are going to explore Darlinghurst's contemporary art scene, discover inspiring exhibitions, and enjoy unhurried conversations over coffee and lunch with fellow art lovers. **11:00 am – Meet the Group** **Venue: Stanley Green – Plant Shop, Café, Wine & Cocktail Bar** We'll begin with coffee, introductions and a brief overview of the day's gallery walk. **11:20 am – 12:00 pm** **Stanley Street Gallery** The gallery represents leading and emerging Australian artists working across painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography. We'll take time to explore the current exhibition, appreciate the artworks and share our observations together. **2:10 pm – 12:50 pm** **King Street Gallery on William** \-\-\-\-As one of Sydney's leading commercial galleries\, King Street Gallery presents exceptional contemporary Australian painting\, sculpture and photography\. Its spacious exhibition spaces provide an excellent opportunity to experience a diverse range of artistic practices\. **1:00 pm – 2:00 pm Lunch Venue: bills Darlinghurst** Enjoy a relaxed lunch while getting to know fellow members and discussing the morning's exhibitions. **2:10 pm – 2:50 pm** **Liverpool Street Gallery** Our final gallery visit features thoughtfully curated exhibitions by contemporary Australian artists. We'll conclude the afternoon by sharing our favourite works and reflecting on the day's artistic discoveries. **3:00 pm Event Concludes** **Curator's Preview** Before we meet, you're welcome to explore the galleries' current exhibitions online. As one of Australia's most beloved painters and a National Art School alum, Olley's legacy comes alive in this exhibition — bringing together over sixty of her works alongside pieces by her NAS friends, teachers and peers. It has to be shared with our art lovers. Let's experience Margaret Olley: Australian Intimiste at the National Art School Gallery, and explore the historic Darlinghurst Gaol setting that houses it. **A huge thanks to our curator Katrina, who has generously offered to guide us on a private art tour.** **Itinerary:** **11:30 am –Crew Coffee & Conversation** **Venue: Cafe NAS** We'll gather, introduce ourselves and meet fellow members before beginning our gallery experience.Enjoy a relaxed coffee and casual conversation before exploring the Gallery. **12:15 pm – Margaret Olley: Australian Intimiste (Free Admission)** Discover Margaret Olley's six-decade career through the lens of intimisme — her interiors, floral arrangements, antiques and domestic objects — alongside works by Jean Bellette, Russell Drysdale, Tony Tuckson and other NAS contemporaries, plus Sir William Dobell's 1948 Archibald-winning portrait of Olley. Take your time exploring the exhibition, discussing favourite artworks and sharing different perspectives with fellow members. No ticket required — admission is free. **1:15 pm – Foodies & Arties Delight** **Venue:** **The Rusty Rabbit** We'll gather over lunch to share our favourite discoveries from the morning, exchange ideas, and enjoy good food and even better conversations. **2:15 pm – Continue Exploring** After lunch, we are free to enjoy the Gallery at their own pace. This is a gentle, guided painting experience designed to support emotional release, relaxation, and creative flow—no art experience needed. You don’t need to be “good at art.” You just need to come as you are. Through intuitive painting and reflective creative exercises, you’ll be invited to explore your inner world in a safe and supportive environment. This is a space to let go of pressure, quiet the mind, and reconnect with your natural creativity. This walk takes us from Martin Place to Circular Quay, uncovering Sydney’s “Mad Men” era of the 1950s, 60s and 70s — a period of rapid growth when skyscrapers began reshaping the skyline, public art flourished, and bold new ideas transformed the city. We’ll discover hidden architectural gems, iconic buildings, public artworks and stories of a Sydney evolving into the vibrant global city we know today. 📅 Sunday 16 August 2026 ⏰ 2:30pm 📍 Meet outside the GPO, 1 Martin Place 🚶 Easy-paced walk (approximately 1–2 hours) 🍻 We’ll finish with a drink or two afterwards for those who’d like to stay and socialise.
